Chapter 1842: I Don’t Plan on Being a Guest Forever
Xu Baohan instantly fell silent. He lowered his head and started to chop the meat, the band-it on his hand especially obvious.
An Lan took a glance at his finger and averted her gaze. She poured a cup of warm water and placed it on the kitchen counter. She then took out a glass bottle filled with white liquid.
“Do you want some yogurt?” She handed him one bottle.
Xu Baohan took it without hesitation. There was no label on it. “What... What brand is this?”
“An Lan brand,” She answered lazily. “I made it myself.”
Xu Baohan blinked. He had wanted to ask her what brand of yogurt she liked, but she had made it herself. How could he buy it? “I will definitely try it.”
After she left with her bottle of yogurt, Xu Baohan opened his and tried it. He didn’t know how she made it, but it tasted delicious, much better than the yogurt he had had during the day.
Twenty minutes later, he placed two bowls of noodles on the dining table. An Lan walked over and saw vegetables, a medium-rare egg and minced meat over the noodles. It smelt good.
“Try it. I’ll improve if you don’t like it,” Xu Baohan said.
An Lan nodded and picked up her chopsticks to eat. The home style noodles were indeed delicious with meat and much healthier than eating outside. No wonder he offered to cook noodles in her place.
“Not bad,” she praised generously after tasting it.
Xu Baohan smiled. Even though he was confident in his noodles cooking skills, he had been a little nervous. Right now, he was actually like a young lad, eager for her praises. When he heard her approval, he heaved a sigh of relief.
“An Lan, if you want to eat noodles in the future, you can call me anytime.”
An Lan put down her chopsticks. “Are you sure? You’re a judge, aren’t you busy?”
“Yes, I’m busy, but my marriage is more important than work,” Xu Baohan replied calmly.
“Eat your noodles,” An Lan pouted. “I’m not a northerner, and I don’t like noodles that much. I just eat them occasionally.”
“I’m good at cooking lots of dishes except for noodles. You can try them all,” Xu Baohan offered.
An Lan answered vaguely as she ate.
Xu Baohan ate quickly. After she finished, he immediately took her empty bowl and washed the dishes as though she was a guest.
An Lan was stunned. She looked at his back and suddenly felt a little guilty. “I’ll do the dishes. You’re a guest after all.”
“It’s okay. After all, I don’t plan on being a guest for long.” Xu Baohan washed the two dishes with sure hands.
An Lan was speechless at his shameless words. What else could she say?
After washing the dishes, Xu Baohan washed his hands with soap, wiped them clean, and said, “I should leave now. You’re tired today. Have a good night.”
An Lan scratched the back of her head, surprised that he’d so soon. “Do you want to sit for a while?”
“No, I came here to make noodles, I’m a man of my word.” Xu Baohan walked to the door and turned around, his face solemn. “And today is my first time coming to your place. If I stay too long, you won’t feel safe.”
