地震时怎样保护自己

Chapter 232 - 233: Accident (1)

Her expression was very serious, her body stood up straight. Even though there was a bit of sandpaper harshness in her voice leftover from her earlier argument, her tone was quite stern.

Qin Zhiyou gave her a casual look, seeing her so serious, he wondered what she needed to talk about. He grunted in acknowledgement, glanced around at the disheveled bedding, and casually asked, “You just got up?”

Lu Weixi nodded. As Qin Zhiyou walked further into the room and loosened his tie, he remarked, “You haven’t had breakfast yet, I assume? Are you hungry?”

“Not hungry.” Lu Weixi shook her head. Immediately, Qin Zhiyou suggested, “No matter, well have lunch later. Are you thirsty?”

A little, she hadn’t had any water since she woke up. Upon finishing her sentence, she immediately turned to get a cup of water. After pouring half a cup, she suddenly realized something was off, wasn’t she supposed to discuss something with Qin Zhiyou?

Yet drinking water shouldn’t hinder conversation. When she came back with a glass of water, Qin Zhiyou was already sitting on the couch, one arm draped over the backrest, his long legs were stylishly crossed, his expression content.

She also sat down, taking a couple of sips before placing the glass on the table. Before she could start speaking, Qin Zhiyou picked up her glass and finished off the water in it.

Lu Weixi seemed a bit stunned but said nothing. After he finished drinking, Qin Zhiyou looked up at her, his expression had already cooled down, he finally spoke, “What is it that you need to discuss?”

Lu Weixi paused before speaking, “Zhiyou, I promised you before that I would attend important events with you and act as your female companion. However, after thinking it through, I don’t really think it’s appropriate. For example, when we disembark later, I want to go separately.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Zhiyou’s expression darkened slightly: “What’s inappropriate about it?”

Is she still concerned about the matter regarding Qin Zhigu and fears the public’s gossip?

Seeing the doubt in his expression, Lu Weixi quickly clarified, “No, that’s not it. What I mean is, I’m okay with events like the one on the ship, I can attend those with you. But when it comes to dealing with the media and reporters, I’m not keen on participating. I’m not in the entertainment industry, I don’t need to be in the spotlight nor am I interested in being famous.”

Qin Zhiyou’s own social presence had over ten million followers. Even though there might be some fake ones amongst those numbers, his young, handsome, and wealthy image, combined with his constant involvement with female celebrities, had already made him a focal point in the public’s eye. Any social post he made could potentially become trending news.

She didn’t know how many idiots would be criticizing her, or even conducting online searches to reveal her identity. Could she even live her life in peace then?

Clearly, Qin Zhiyou hadn’t considered this aspect and paused for a moment. He was aware of how ruthless and intrusive the internet could be. Petty gossip was the least of their concerns, if some criminals were to harm her in any way, it would be too late for regrets.

After a moment of consideration, he nodded, “Sure.”

Seeing that he agreed, Lu Weixi let out a sigh of relief.

Immediately, Qin Zhiyou turned towards her, “However, for today you’ll need to disembark the ship with me.”

Lu Weixi’s eyes widened in alarm, had she just heard that reporters and media would be present?

She didn’t want her colleagues to question her, nor did she want to explain herself to future clients, or to be the subject of whispers in a hospital.

Qin Zhiyou glanced casually at her, “You certainly have to leave with me. Everyone knows you came onto the ship, not leaving with me would raise questions. When we disembark, I will get you a hat and a mask.”

But Lu Weixi clearly still had something to say, “There’s one more thing..”
