地震时怎样保护自己

Chapter 386 - 387: Past Tense (3)

As for Liu Yiyi, she might not have recognised her immediately, but somehow, when Lu Weixi spoke those haughty, indifferent words, an image flashed in Yiyi’s mind, it was the scene where she herself had been slapped twice.

Damn it, that designer! It was her, it really was her!

Yiyi had initially thought that Qin Zhiyou being so nice to her lately, inviting her to participate in his show and star in his movie, signified his high regard for her. Unexpectedly, this woman had quietly approached him! But how did they know each other? Wait, what was the name of this woman’s design company? Lulu? Yiyi seemed to remember something vaguely that had happened recently, something that was linked to Qin Zhiyou.

She didn’t idly sit once again, hastily messaging her assistant to investigate this Lulu incident.

She had to resume her duties here, so Liu Yiyi quickly pasted on a smile and continued to welcome guests.

In the venue, Qin Zhiyou had been holding Lu Weixi’s hand ever since they walked in, attracting quite a bit of attention along the way. Although most of Lu Weixi’s face was hidden behind a mask, her unique attire drew even more attention.

Throughout their walk to the event, she held hands with Qin Zhiyou. Though her expression was somewhat sombre, their posture was intimate enough. However, before Qin Zhiyou could utter a word on reaching their seats, Lu Weixi’s hand slipped from his grip.

The instant her fingers left his, Qin Zhiyou felt as though something vital was escaping from his life. He hastily tried to explain: “Actually, I…”

Before he even finished speaking, a man approached and greeted him, “President Qin.”

It was President Tian from Southern Gang, a familiar figure who had been negotiating a joint development project with him recently. Qin Zhiyou was left with no choice but to engage in a brief exchange with him. Unexpectedly, the conversation attracted more people, exchanging pleasantries, and paying compliments. These people were relatively sensible. Seeing a woman by Qin Zhiyou’s side and him not introducing her, they chose to ignore her presence.

Originally, Qin Zhiyou had planned to proudly display his beautiful wife to an audience filled with envy. However, the arrival of those three women and subsequent television broadcast had upset his plans. While Lu Weixi should have been the princess, pampered and spoiled, she was now sitting silently by his side with a mask on. Despite showing no signs of anger, looking at her calm gaze, he felt a stab of pain in his heart.

Especially when someone from some company, trying to network with him, accidentally bumped into her. Qin Zhiyou caught sight of her slightly furrowed brows from the corner of his eyes. She didn’t utter a word, simply stepped back a bit, distancing herself from him.

His wife, why should she be ignored by others? Even if she could not reveal her identity at the moment, these people had no right to disrespect her!

Qin Zhiyou’s face darkened, and he directed his gaze towards the person who had bumped into Lu Weixi: “Which company are you from?”

The man, looking pleased, thought he had a chance for a successful collaboration and promptly answered, “Hello President Qin, I am the general manager of XX Industries, my name is…”

Before he could even finish stating his name, Qin Zhiyou cut him off, “XX Industries, is it? From now on, we will not collaborate on any project..”
