Chapter 101 - 101 Belief... Right?
Both calls involved spending money.
One call was from the auto parts city boss, who said the all-terrain vehicle had arrived and asked Feng to come over to make the final payment and discuss how to modify the car.
That call didn’t cost much; Feng drove straight to the auto parts city, briefly stated his requirements to the boss, paid the balance, and then left a thirty thousand yuan deposit for customization, with the agreement that he would be refunded if it cost less or pay the difference if it cost more.
The other call was a bit more troublesome, a real estate agent had found him a villa in a high-end neighborhood in Zhengyang, over eight hundred square meters, worth more than forty million yuan, with the bank offering a loan.
Feng knew of this neighborhood called Huasheng; it had a good location and property management, with high property prices and residents who were mostly either rich or noble.
After some thought, he first went to the 4.S shop where the Sales Guide was already pacing impatiently at the door, and upon spotting the Passat, she hurried out to greet him.
Booking the Phaeton was a simple affair, and the Guide even whispered that if he paid in full now, he could get a one percent discount. Feng immediately conveyed that he would pay in full, saying he wasn’t short of that one hundred something million.
However, after he paid, the Sales Guide still clung to him, mentioning that she had a friend in the insurance business and asking if he could give his Phaeton’s insurance policy to her friend.
That kind of business was not too small, but Feng was indifferent to it; he had to buy insurance anyway, so who to buy from didn’t really matter, did it?
However, he didn’t want to agree to her request so easily. “Last time I came to buy the Passat, you didn’t offer anything. Now with the Phaeton, you still don’t offer anything. With this attitude…you still expect to handle my insurance policy?”
He wasn’t trying to gain any advantage, but— “I’ve already supported your business and don’t owe you anything. Now you are actively seeking more business from me, but we have no real personal relationship, do we?”
Seeing that he was humming and hawing without committing, the Sales Guide leaned in and whispered, “How about my friend and I take you out to dinner tonight, and she can explain more then?”
This proposition carried a hint of ambiguity, but as Feng’s recent dates with women had been unsatisfactory, he had no desire to pretend, “There are many people who want to invite me to dinner, I’m not interested…but if you invite me alone, I might consider it.”
The Sales Guide hesitated noticeably before replying, “I could take you out for a meal, but… it would just be dinner.”
“Then I’m not interested,” Feng waved his hand, refusing flatly without any expression, “After dinner, there should be some entertainment. If you’re not willing, I won’t force you.”
It was a blatant invitation. After all, they were both adults; what’s the point in beating around the bush?
It was better to clarify things from the start to avoid wasting time.
Of course, if she didn’t agree, that was fine by him, he never intended to take advantage of the situation.
But the Sales Guide thought differently. She believed that if she didn’t agree, she would definitely miss out on the insurance policy, whereas if she hadn’t hinted previously, there might still have been a slim chance.
After hesitating for a moment, she finally mustered the courage to whisper, “I need to go home tonight, and… there needs to be protection.”
Feng looked at her in surprise, “Your dedication to your work is really something.”
He had never thought about such things before and thus had little desire for them—a Sales Guide is also in the service industry, and nobody has it easy.
He didn’t like to force others, and besides, a man who needed to scheme against a Sales Guide just to buy a car… what a failure of a life that must be?
Yet her last four words, in an instant, ignited the fire within him: he had truly been holding back for a long time.
They say that animalistic instincts lurk in the nature of men, and that’s utterly true. When not considering the matter, Feng was mostly a gentleman, but once the other party showed willingness to give and take, the animal in his genes immediately burst forth.
He eyed the Sales Guide up and down a few times. She wasn’t tall, about one meter sixty, and had a slim figure, not the pitiable thinness like Ye Qingyi, but a slender kind of thin, with the necessary curves where it mattered.
Looking at her face, she could score around eighty points, a bit better than Xiao Yezi.
With the lecherous thoughts surging in his mind, he couldn’t be bothered with niceties anymore, so he chuckled softly and said in a low voice, “Since that’s the case, why wait for dinner? Come with me now.”
The Sales Guide was startled, retreating a step backward nervously and glancing around with a troubled expression. She whispered urgently, “Bro, I’m at work… Keep it down, I still have to face people here.”
Feng observed her demeanor, and it suddenly struck him, “To be, or not to be, that is the question.”
What he really meant was: Money or dignity, that is the question.
“Huh?” The Sales Guide was puzzled, “What did you say?”
“Nothing,” Feng replied with a smile, “Just remembered a famous saying.”
Having been in the industry for some time, the Sales Guide had encountered a variety of odd people and didn’t pay much attention to his comment; instead, she whispered, “I can’t get out during work hours. Tonight then… okay?” Her face showed a bit of panic, giving off a pitiful vibe.
But Feng Jun’s self-control had greatly diminished, and besides, he had been single for quite a while.
So he straightened his expression, looking a bit displeased as he questioned, “I’ve bought a Passat and a Phaeton from your store, and I might buy more cars in the future. Now, I’m inviting you for a coffee, and you’re telling me… you can’t leave during work hours?”
There’s no such rule in the world. Just the Phaeton alone cost over a million, and landing that deal meant the beautiful Sales Guide could leave work early without the manager having any grounds for complaint. In fact, the manager would have to remind her to communicate more and interact more with the client.
He even suspected that the beautiful Sales Guide was playing games with him: Do I really look that much like a bumpkin?
The beautiful woman stared at him for three or four seconds before sighing, “If I go out with you now, everyone will know what it means. Ah, my reputation… it will be affected.”
What she said might be the truth, or it could also be a tactic; Feng Jun couldn’t be certain.
Regardless, he was still willing to consider the beautiful woman’s situation; caring about reputation was never a bad thing.
So he nodded, “Fine, I’ll leave first and wait for you across the street. You go ask the manager for a leave, just say that I invited you for coffee… he won’t know if you’re going to handle personal matters.”
By not leaving together, they would avoid a lot of rumors and gossip; he was indeed considering the other person.
Upon hearing this, the beautiful Sales Guide gave him a glance and muttered softly, “Quite the schemer… an old hand, huh?”
Feng Jun was about to leave, but on hearing this, he couldn’t help but crack a slight smile, “Notold, I’m still very young… really.”
He parked the Passat diagonally across the street and waited for about twenty minutes before a graceful figure carrying a whiff of fragrance sat in the passenger seat.
The beautiful Sales Guide had changed her clothes, swapping her knee-length pencil skirt for a princess dress, and her formal blazer for a loose casual shirt that hung freely on her body, giving off an irresistibly vulnerable charm.
Feng Jun started the car and, after putting it into gear, asked casually, “Where to?”
The beautiful woman pondered for a moment, feigning ignorance, “Aren’t you inviting me for coffee?”
Turning his head towards her, Feng Jun grinned, revealing his teeth, “No coffee, but there’s plenty of milk to go around…”
Two hours later, as the sky grew darker, a white Passat emerged from a grove.
Feng Jun had been holding back so fiercely that he didn’t bother returning to the Penglai Grand Hotel in the city center. Instead, he drove straight to the outskirts and had not one, but two encounters with the beautiful Sales Guide in the car.
Now, feeling refreshed and clear-headed, he drove while the woman next to him lay limp in the seat, not wanting to lift even a finger.
The entire car was filled with a decadent atmosphere. Feng Jun rolled down the window and lit a cigarette, taking a light drag, “That Phaeton’s insurance… how much is it?”
The woman didn’t respond at first, but after a while, she spoke in a heavy nasal tone, lazily saying, “Impressive, just the insurance… and you’ve got yourself a deal.”
Impressive, huh? Feng Jun couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing such praise. There wasn’t a man who wouldn’t be pleased to hear it.
However, he also knew that he was in unusually good form today, which probably had to do with his comings and goings from the Mobile Phone space, or maybe with his cultivation of the “Tai Chi Breathing Technique.”
But that didn’t mean he had to accept her hike in price, “It seems like I wasn’t the only one having fun, right?”
The woman spoke lazily, “But now my whole body feels like it’s fallen apart.”
If it weren’t for the darkness of night, one could have seen her slumped in the passenger seat, her body limp as noodles.
I like to hear that! Feng Jun took another drag of his cigarette, no longer caring to quibble, “The insurance isn’t enough… what do you mean?”
Once again, the woman fell silent before finally asking, “Do you have a partner?”
“Hmm, no,” Feng Jun replied indifferently, “and I don’t plan to look for one any time soon.”
“Is that so?” the woman perked up, turning to him and asking, “I’ve only met you twice, and I’ve done that with you… even in the car, don’t you think less of me?”
“Think less of you? I don’t think so. I’ve only met you twice as well,” said Feng Jun, now in the so-called sage time, speaking very calmly, “We’re both young, and we each have our own needs… that’s normal, right?”
The woman was silent again for a moment before speaking, “What if I say this was the first time I’ve done this with a client… would you believe me?” “Believe… guess so?” Feng Jun hesitated to be too gullible, “I could feel that you’re not very experienced.”
As an old driver, he was qualified to say so, but this qualification was not necessarily authoritative, and he was more intent on comforting her.
“I’ve only done it a few times with my ex-boyfriend,” the woman said faintly, “For some reason, I liked you the moment I sawyou… I even dreamed about you last night.”
