This Beast-Tamer is a Little Strange

Chapter 44: Chapter 44: System Upgrade

Both he and Bea had passed the 900 SP mark, sitting at 907 and 935 SP respectively.

However, the spiritual power that would increase greatly each day began to plateau after they had passed 900 SP.

Now, Bea\'s SP, similar to the system, was only increasing by 1 or 2 points with each white-grade beast.

Similarly, after a night of long-work, Kain may only have his spiritual power increase by around 5 points.

However, despite the no longer rapid progress, Kain was currently ecstatic.

He looked down lovingly at the white spider corpse below him, a Venom Spinner, extremely toxic among bronze-quality spiritual beasts. Thankfully, it was still young and had not reached red-grade yet.

Anyways, the reason he was staring at the spider with such affection was not due to any strange inclinations, but rather because its death had allowed him to achieve one of his major goals.

He had finally accumulated enough GP to upgrade the system.

"Hehehe…finally! System! Upgrade!"

*Ding. Sensing the Host\'s intention to consume all available GP to upgrade the system. In order to complete the upgrade the System will be unavailable for 24 hours. Do you still wish to proceed?*

"Yes!"

\'It\'s not as though when you are available you are that useful anyways…\' Kain muttered.

*Decision confirmed. Initializing System Upgrade*

\'I hope after the upgrade you can increase my chances of passing the exam\'

While waiting for the System to upgrade, Kain decided to sit and catch his breath before continuing to hunt.

Rustle

Although the spider had only been a child, it was much more challenging to defeat than even the average red-grade spiritual creature.

Rustle

Kain began to slowly dissect the spider for the materials that were valuable. Its poison sac alone is probably the most valuable thing he had obtained since entering the forest.

Skitter Scuttle

If it has been from a fully adult red-grade Venom Spinner, then he would have easily obtained over 7 figures worth of CD with one kill.

"Hmm…" Kain went still while focusing on his hearing.

He was alarmed. Not by what he heard, but by the complete absence of any sounds around him.

Usually there would be a variety of sounds caused by living things moving and communicating with on another in the forest. But now…nothing.

The only time an entire areas would turn silent like this was if an apex predator was in the vicinity.

Kain immediately turned to run away when he heard it.

Screeeeeeeeeeeee

In front of him was a spider several times his size, staring at him with glowing red eyes.

Eyes that flicked back and forth in anger between him and…the dead spider at his feet.

\'I\'m screwed\'
