Hellmode ~Gamer Who Likes to Speedrun Becomes Peerless in a Parallel World with Obsolete Setting~

Vol. 5 - Chapter 296 - Digragni (1)

Rosetta held up the stone plate-like magical tool in her arms as she glared and warned me.

(No, you don't have to be so careful, I won't rob you. It's not 'Infinite', just 'Extra Large'.)

My friends and I had defeated nearly 4,000 Iron Golems.

We had found numerous Silver Chests from them and found several Dimensional Storages.

The Silver Chests, which had about a 10% chance dropping, contained either a Hihirokane Golem's Stone Slabs, magic tools or weapons and armor made of Adamantite.

Thanks to that, we had found all the magic tools we would need for our adventures in one place.

(Alright, alright. We're one step closer to the Adamantite Golem.)

We had also found 3 Gold Chests after defeating 4,000 Iron Golems.

One of them contained Orichalcum, but the other two contained Adamantite Golem's Stone Slabs.

Including the one that Admiral Galara had given us, we had 3 Adamantite Stone Slabs in our possession.

"Congratulations! You are the first players to conquer the S-class Dungeon 'Tower of Trials'. We will first issue you a Certificate, so please accept it."

The cube said to us after our reward distribution finished.

Then, a jet-black business card-sized card appeared in front of me, Helmios, Admiral Galara, and Prince Zew.

(Oh, it says "Certificate of Conquest of the S Class Dungeon 'Tower of Trials'". Is our name engraved on the back?)

The jet-black card had gold letters on the front and back saying that it was a Certificate and who participated.

"Prince Zew, this is the perfect proof. Now, you can finally go back to the Beast Kingdom with your head held high."

I said it was lucky that the dungeon issued Certificates properly.

"Mm, well, yeah."

Prince Zew replied, looking at the front and back.

"Next, as a reward for being the first ones to conquer the dungeon, Dungeon Master Digragni wants to reward you in person. He will be here shortly."

"Oh! Please!"

 I replied with glee.

 Zuuuuuuhn!

""Huh!""

Then, right behind the cube, a huge object shining jet-black suddenly appeared.

(You've finally arrived!)

The jet-black figure was a 10 meter tall Adamantite Golem.

"Oh! I'm sorry if I scared you. I'm Digragni!"

With that said, Dungeon Master Digragni nimbly appeared.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Allen. The leader of this whole raid is Prince Zew, but I am the leader of the party who will get the special reward, so..."

"Keep things short!"

Apparently it was a long explanation.

"I'm sorry, sir. I will be the one negotiating for the special reward."

"I'm sorry about that. Lord Elmea is asking me to make it by next month."

"Ah, a dungeon for changing Talents, right? Is it going well?"

"There's no problem. I am just short on time, so I am very busy."

 Oh dear, said Digragni.

It was the beginning of March when we were having that conversation, but I had previously heard from the Spirit God that in another month, in April, there would be a dungeon where once could change Talents if they could conquer it.

Dungeon Master Digragni was often absent from the S-class dungeon because of his duty to manage the difficulty and other settings of the dungeon that allowed changing Talents.

I had heard before that Digragni would normally leave the temple and roam the 1st Floor's city.

My friends and I had been in the S-class dungeon for a long time, but we hadn't met once.

(Was he in Academy City just a moment ago? Can he move between dungeons in an instant even if they're on different continents?)

Digragni was supposed to be in Academy City of Latash Kingdom, where my friends and I studied.

I knew that Digragni was converting an A-class dungeon in the Academy City to the Talent changing dungeon.

"You're still the same as ever, Digragni."

Spirit God Rosen said to Digragni who said that he was busy because of the task that Creator God Lemea had entrusted him with.

"Oh! Rosen, long time no see, man!"

"Don't call me casually. Unlike you, I've become a God. Haha."

"I'm not sure what you mean by that. We are friends, aren't we? There's no need for us to be so formal with each other."

Digragni and Rosen started a conversation.

Their conversation reminded me of a conversation between a salary man and his superior who had just recently been promoted in my previous life.

(I thought you said you didn't get along with him very well.)

I recalled as I looked at Spirit God with wrinkles between his eyebrows.

Digragni and Spirit God Rosen seemed to both be about 5,000 years old.

It seemed that the time when they received their Divine Artifact from Creator God Elmea was also exactly the same.

I remember the Spirit God telling me while eating fukaman that they were called to the Temple of the Creator God together and given their Divine Artifacts.

''Hmph. You're using everyone's prayers and wishes for a box garden like this. Even Lord Elmea is disgusted.''

"An? I wonder if you don't understand the beauty of my dungeons~. Lord Elmea doesn't yet either."

"You! You dare to talk like that not only to me, but to Lord Elmea as well!"

I had heard they didn't get along, but it sounded pretty bad.

I thought to myself in that situation, "That's a dexterous clenched fist of anger for Squirrel from Spirit God."

The Spirit God yelled Digragni and Digragni looked away while whistling. From that, I inferred the relationship between the two of them.

(I wonder if he used the Divine Artifact he got from the Creator God to collect prayers, expand S-class dungeons, and make rewards and treasures for defeating the magical beasts. Maybe that's why the Floor Bosses and Dungeon Boss were very strong.)

I had heard from the Creator God that a person who has a Divine Artifact would collect prayers from the people, and the power of those prayers would lead them to the Demi-Godhood and then to Godhood.

Apparently, Digragni uses the power of his prayer to expand the S-class dungeon for his own enjoyment.

I realized that the S-rank Floor Bosses' ridiculous power, the 1st Floor city that growed larger every year, and the Towers that seemed to reach to the heavens were all powered by the power of people's prayers.

"So, the reward for the first..."

"Oh! That's right. What do you want?'

The relationship between Digragni and the Spirit God was quite interesting, but at that moment I wanted to talk about the rewards for being the first ones to conquer the S-class dungeon.

"Now, please change all of my friends to Hell Mode."

"What? What are you talking about? There's no way I can do it!"

"What about Extra Mode?"

"Of course!"

Apparently neither Hell Mode nor Extra Mode would work.

The Spirit God had said he couldn't do it before, so I wondered if it would be too much to ask of Digragni, who was wasting the prayers.

"Then since we only have one Extra Skill each, give us all a second Extra Skill."

I learned thanks to Prince Zew, that one could have a maximum of three Extra Skills, so I asked Digragni for more Extra Skills.

"I can't do that either. That's something that only Gods can do. I mean, you know. There is a God there. Why don't you ask him?"

"Hey!"

Digragni pointed at Spirit God, who responded by saying nothing more than he had to.

"What about changing Talents then?"

"An? I might be able to at least change Talents, but not if you've already changed Talents once, or already have high stars Talent to begin with."

Digragni could change Talents, although there were conditions involved.

"How is the highest you can get?"

"4 stars, I think."

(That's pretty low. Well, at the Demi-God stage, Spirit God said that he was limited to 4 Stars as well. He did make Kurena a 5-star when he became a Spirit God, though. I mean, this Dungeon Master is pretty blunt. He will probably get scolded by Creator God Elmea later.)

Hell Mode, the number of stars of a Talent, and other things that were common knowledge to me, came as a shock to people in my surroundings.

I thought that entrusting Digragni to make the Talents changing dungeons was a form of punishment for Digragni's usually bad behavior.

"The Talent changing dungeon will open next month. And it can only raise one's Talent to upto 4 stars. And we can only change Talents once? That's not very useful, is it."

I was so persistent in my questions about the new Talent changing system that Spirit God wanted to run away to Rosenheim.

I realized then that the Talent changing system was not that big of a deal.

"Then what do you want? If it's a magic tool , I can make something rather good."

I had asked for the impossible, so Digragni told me to make a wish in his area of expertise.

(Okay, so this is what I wanted. I guess it's time to get down to business.)

I had already tried it beforehand and had accepted that the Mode change would not be possible and changing Talents wouldn't strengthen me and my friends by much.

I was only asking just in case.

Since we were all in a hurry, I cut to the chase.

"Merle. Can I borrow your Magic Board for a second?"

"Yes."

Then I asked Merle to lend me her Magic Board.

Merle handed the Magic Board around her neck to me, wondering what I was going to use it for.

I held the Magic Board in my hand and the dwarves, who were also Golem Users, looked at me to see what I was up to.

I flipped the front and back of the Magic Board over and over in my hand.

On the front of the Magic Board, there were 10 Mithril Slabs, and the back was smooth and empty.

There were no dents on the back side to fit a Stone Slab.

''Then, please make dents on the back side of this Magic Board so that 20 Stone Slabs can be fitted in the front and back sides combined."

Allen told Digragni the reward that he had in mind.
