Deviant: No Longer Human

Chapter 584: A Normal Day!

It had been some time since he, Wang Xueying, and Isabella had been staying here in the capital, and despite the passing days — He was not in the best mood, his mind still consumed with the recent events that left a sour taste in his mouth.

He sat there, quietly checking through some things on his device, when Wang Xueying suddenly appeared out of nowhere, her bare feet making no sound on the floor.

Without a word, she climbed onto the bed behind him and started massaging his shoulders.

Her touch was light but firm, and for a moment, Wang Xiao blinked, bewildered.

He sighed, shaking his head. "Stop with this. Just say what you want," he said, his voice tired and devoid of patience.

Wang Xueying\'s smile didn\'t falter in the slightest. In fact, it only grew wider, a mischievous glint flashing in her eyes as she pulled out a small needle that gleamed sharply under the light. It caught Wang Xiao\'s attention instantly, his instincts kicking in. He stiffened.

"What are you doing?" His hand shot out, gripping her wrist firmly before she could move closer with the needle.

Wang Xueying blinked, her expression not changing. "Taking your blood sample?" she said, her voice sweet and nonchalant, as if what she was doing was the most normal thing in the world.

Wang Xiao stared at her in disbelief, his grip tightening. "…Seriously?"

Wang Xueying blinked rapidly, an awkward expression flickering across her face as the sweet scent in the air did little to convince Wang Xiao of her innocence.

His gaze remained cold, unconvinced, his fingers tightening around her face in a firm grip.

"Isabelle sent you?" Wang Xiao asked, his voice low, eyes narrowing with suspicion.

Wang Xueying\'s smile faltered, her lips puckering as he held her face between his fingers. "I… also… need it," she muttered, her voice stretched and awkward with his hand still gripping her.

When he finally let go, she looked up at him shamelessly, unfazed by the brief struggle.

He sighed inwardly.

Seventeenth time.

Ever since she\'d discovered his true identity, she had been at it constantly, trying to get something from him—always something.

And every time, it was more suspicious than the last.

What are they trying to do with my blood this time?

Clones?

Experiments?

He wasn\'t sure, but it wasn\'t going to happen today.

"Nope." His response was immediate and absolute. He shoved her away with a firm hand, dismissing her attempt without hesitation.

"What?" Wang Xueying\'s eyes widened in shock, clearly not expecting such a blunt rejection. "You\'re really not going to give it to me?"

"No," Wang Xiao repeated, his tone final. He could feel that this was more than a simple request, and he wasn\'t about to play into whatever plan she or Isabelle had cooked up this time.

He swore they were plotting something deeper, and the last thing he needed was to fall into their scheme.

Wang Xueying, still recovering from his unexpected refusal, pouted dramatically.

"Then what\'s the point of my brother being the Eighth Prince?" Wang Xueying muttered under her breath, clearly frustrated by his refusal.

Wang Xiao closed one eye, his tone suddenly dangerous. "You want to see the point...?" he asked, his voice low, carrying a warning that immediately made her regret her words.

Gasp!

Her mouth snapped shut, and she shook her head quickly.

Wang Xiao\'s smile widened slightly. \'She hasn\'t forgotten her last lesson,\' he thought, amused.

"Go and tell Isabelle to come and take it herself if she needs it," Wang Xiao pointed suggestively between his legs, a smirk playing on his lips. "There are plenty of ways to get DNA, and I\'m offering the most efficient."

"!" Wang Xueying\'s eyes widened in shock as her gaze followed his hand. Her cheeks flushed, her face blooming with color like a flower opening under the sun.

But she quickly snapped out of it, her expression turning suspicious. "Forget it, brother… If you\'re the prince, then who was with Mei? Is someone scamming her?" she asked, her tone suddenly sharp as she pointed out the inconsistency, her suspicion growing.

Wang Xiao\'s face darkened at her question. He wasn\'t ready for that particular line of thought. "Maybe," he said vaguely, unwilling to confirm anything just yet.

Wang Xueying\'s eyes widened in shock. "You met Mei before me!" she blurted, her mind jumping to conclusions.

Wang Xiao didn\'t bother to respond, his expression hard as stone.

Wang Xueying\'s eyes blazed — She crossed her arms, her voice rising with every word. "I was here, waiting for you all this time, and you insensitive prick were out there playing marriage-marriage with Mei?"

Wang Xiao glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, his expression flat, but she wasn\'t about to let it go that easily.

Wang Xueying stepped closer, frustration radiating off her as she placed her hands on her hips. "You met Mei before me? Really? Not just that, but you even… ahhh, never mind!" She groaned, her face scrunching up in anger. "Is that what this is now? I wait here like a fool, and meanwhile, you\'re off having fun, planting my head green with concubines?"

Wang Xiao stared at her blankly for a moment, before reaching out and playfully grabbing her nose. "When I was dying, I was dying alone. Now, I\'m having fun alone. Or… do you want to have some concubines of your own?" His tone shifted slightly, a soft but clear warning in his voice, reminding her of her place.

Wang Xueying\'s face flushed red with embarrassment.

She hadn\'t considered it from his perspective—how much he had gone through, and the reality that before all this, he had been just a normal person, facing challenges and pain on his own.

Now, with the power he held, there must have been a lot before he had even gained this strength.

Wang Xiao\'s smirk deepened. "See? That\'s why I prefer Mei. She stays quiet, unlike you."

Wang Xueying, who had been on the verge of guilt, suddenly felt a wave of anger rise up again. "Then go play with your Mei! You like your quiet, oppressive girls? Fine! I\'m off limits!" she shouted, her voice tinged with both jealousy and frustration.

Wang Xiao blinked, staring at her in amusement as she threw her little tantrum and stormed out in a huff.

He called out after her with a mocking tone, "Just because you say you\'re off limits doesn\'t mean I approve it."

"Wh—"

Wang Xueying nearly tripped as she stomped toward the door, her foot catching slightly as she fumbled in her frustration. Her teeth gritted in anger as she left the room, muttering under her breath.

\'What does he take himself for?\'

\'Some kind of emperor?\'

\'And us as disposable concubines or what?\'

Her mind filled with frustration, but the moment she had a second to breathe, panic started to set in.

\'Oh my god, what if he really ran to Mei?\' The realization hit her like a ton of bricks.

He is some kind of god, after all, not just an emperor.

He could literally blink and be with her in an instant!

Her heart raced as she imagined the worst, and she quickly grabbed her phone, firing off a flurry of apologetic messages in a panic. \'Did I just ruin everything?\'

Without wasting another second, she rushed back to his room, her anxiety eating at her.

But when she arrived, the room was empty. Wang Xiao was gone.

Wang Xueying stared at the empty space, her hand coming up to palm her face as if she had just dug her own grave. "What have I done…?" she muttered to herself, her thoughts swirling with regret.

Wang Xiao didn\'t care much about Wang Xueying\'s little outburst earlier.

She was right, though—polygamy had its disadvantages, especially for women who often didn\'t get the exclusive privilege they might desire.

In a world where a man could simply move on to another concubine if angered, being unreasonably upset was a luxury not allowed.

But that was a human problem.

Wang Xiao had long left behind such trivial human concerns.

He was no longer part of that world. Now, as a celestial being, relationships, marriage, and love were meaningless concepts.

It was all about power.

The strong dominated the weak. If a powerful goddess wanted a harem of thousands of men, she could simply take them. The same applied to him—if he wanted a thousand-woman harem, he would kidnap and create it.

Because he could.

Right now, however, his focus was on something else—he was going to see his sister, Wang Jiarong.

She had been asking him to visit for quite some time, but he had been too distracted with everything else to make the time.

Today, though, he finally decided to visit her.

"Such a normal day…" he muttered to himself as he walked through the streets of the Imperial Capital. The air was crisp, the sounds of the bustling city around him oddly familiar.

It reminded him of his old life, before all of this.

Back when he walked through the streets of Shanghai like any other man.

"It\'s been more than seven years, huh…" Wang Xiao sighed and smiled wryly, thinking back on how much had changed.
