AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 73: 73

"I am merely stating the truth," ignoring the sharp look Gina had given him, Azriel pressed on. "The guild members should be aware of the truth and so does the rest of the world. What if —what if you end up carrying something filthy after treating this man?"

Damien more or less understood what Azriel was talking about. The beastmen of this world did not know about STI or venereal diseases, thus they treated the people who worked in the brothel as untouchable as they believed getting close to these women and workers would make them catch something.

As Damien threw the cotton ball in the trash can which was placed right beside Azriel, the man stepped away from the trash can and even held his breath as if just smelling the scent of Sigurd\'s blood would make him ill.

What an incompetent douchebag.

"Don\'t worry, I will not catch anything," said Damien with a quiet and confident voice. "I know what I am doing."

"So you agree to put your future on the line for him?" Azriel asked the man with a raise of his brow. Forget it, he did what he could since Damien did not appreciate his advice then he might as well let the man.

Damien glanced at him before saying, "Only those who are incapable will worry about staking their future." He trusted his skills, in this world, he could not trust anyone but his skills.

As long as he was skilled Damien knew that he would and could pave his path on his own. He didn\'t need to rely on guildmates or anyone else, in the past he had only trusted a single person whom he took as his mentor.

How did that man repay him? With a cold blade stabbed right into his heart, that was what that man returned to him for all his trust and hard work.

"Very well," Azriel was surprised by the spirit and courage Damien was showing. "If that is what you want then you can go ahead and do it but when you are kicked out of this guild, you better not blame me, I need to look out for our guildmates."

"I was going to even if you didn\'t tell me," Damien calmly replied, causing Azriel to flush even harder. Damien didn\'t pay attention to the man behind him instead he turned back. Instead, he said to Dan, "Show me his vitals."

A 3-D hologram screen appeared in front of him at once. Damien looked at the rate of heartbeat as well as the amount of blood that he had lost till now. "Host, his heartbeat is getting faint. It is around forty-eight and his breathing rate is under twenty-four. From the examination, he had lost a considerable amount of blood as well."

"The Venom of this snake on the other hand seems to be only affecting the region where it was instilled, from the test reports — even if magical spells were used to treat this wound, they would fail."

Damien paused as he caught the keynote of this analysis. He turned and looked at Azriel who stiffened behind him, so the reason this man was trying his best to stop him was because he was worried that he would heal Sigurd when he couldn\'t right?

The more he thought about it, the more Damien became convinced. This healer was only telling them half of his reasons, the other half was still obscured.

Azriel knew that he couldn\'t treat the snake venom with his spells, thus he refused to treat Sigurd and let anyone find fault with him.

\'What a motherfucking schemer,\' Damien cursed inwardly.

Damien sighed and finished studying the hologram and after he finished analysing, he pursed his lips and muttered, "Sure enough his condition has turned critical. Fortunately, he still has some time to be saved."

He then turned to look at Adikus who was standing behind him and said to him, "Do you know what kind of beastman bit him?"

"I …I know," Adikus replied with a nod. He however was confused when he heard Damien ask about the snake beastman.

"Then can you get your hands on the poison of this beastman?" Damien told him. "The blade with which he was attacked seemed to be doused and coated with poison, so even if I treat him, the poison would melt the threads."

"Poisoned?" Adikus felt like his world was going to be turned upside down. Everyone was aware of the fact that once a beastman was poisoned, death was inevitable.

Before Damien could say anything, a snort rang out causing him to turn and look at the man who stood with his arms crossed in front of his chest. "Just say that you are not going to treat him, why did you have to make up a lie like this? Who are you trying to fool?" Azriel taunted Damien with an unfriendly look on his face.

He was already upset with the addition of a new healer, all day long he was worrying that the respect and reverence others had for him would be reduced.

Damien\'s attitude only poured oil into the already burning fire causing Azriel to become even more dissatisfied with him.

He knew that Sigurd was poisoned as well, had known the second when the wound didn\'t stop bleeding which was why he asked the kind of beastman who attacked Sigurd.

But he didn\'t wish to let Damien have it easy.

His words and actions have embarrassed him, now if Damien were to wash his hands off this matter, he would be called kind while he would be called names for not showing mercy to a dying man.

Azriel didn\'t like this idea very much.
