AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 84: Music Box of Doom

"What are you doing here?" he asked her as he pushed himself off the bed.

The silver-haired beauty arched her brow and looked at him with a sneer on her lips. "Why wouldn\'t I be here? My husband was carried out of our bedroom last night and was brought here." She raised her left leg and crossed it over the right one before saying, "Of course, I need to come and see what\'s going on."

She then raised her head and looked at the dog guard that was resting at the corner of the infirmary and remarked, "They told me that it was you who saved his life." Her red eyes flickered with a hint of novelty as she questioned, "They said that you created an antidote for the poison of those slithering beasts."

"Slithering?" Damien who just woke up was a bit slow on the intake. He opened his mouth and yawned loudly before saying, "Oh you mean to say the Kiem family? Yeah, that\'s right."

"By injecting their venom in your blood?" Wistoria asked with narrowed eyes. She never tried to get close to Damien in the past, but even then she knew about this man enough to know that he was not the kind of person who would put his life at risk for others.

Damien nodded while rubbing the back of his head. He was still half asleep and didn\'t notice the gaze with which Wistoria was looking at him. He replied, "That\'s how the antivenom is created. Usually—. -" He let out a long yawn before continuing, "Usually, we use it on horses or some other animals but I didn\'t have the time to catch a horse and inject it with venom, so – yeah… I used my own. I mean,"

He raised his head and grinned at Wistoria, "I am a dragon right? That – That counts to something."

Wistoria\'s gaze flickered calculatingly as she questioned him, "And you never thought of using someone from the lower-ranking beastmen? I mean– you do understand that even if disposed you are a prince. If you had died, Emiliano would have used it against my family."

And here he thought that she was worried about him.

"Don\'t worry, I took a look at the risk factors before doing it. If I had died then I made arrangements to make my death look like it was suicide," Damien smiled at her but when Wistoria continued to stare at him coldly, he cleared his throat and said to her, "Don\'t look at me like that."

"I knew that my blood would be able to process the venom without any problems."

"How?" Wistoria questioned.

"What?"

"How did you know that your blood would be able to digest the venom without any consequences?" she repeated.

So she was not dithered.

Damien thought as he glanced at Dan who looked right back at him.

He turned to look at Wistoria before replying, "Intuition, I guess?"

Hearing his response Wistoria sighed before saying to him, "I don\'t know what to say to you. Whether I should call you a fool or a genius, I have no idea."

"Let\'s settle on genius because I did succeed," Damien muttered in a low voice.

"And yet you let this process be seen by Azriel?" Wistoria commented.

"So what?" Damien raised his head and asked.

"So what?" Wistoria repeated with a derisive chuckle. "Do you think that man is a man of honour? He is not. He would definitely try to recreate the antivenom."

"He can\'t."

"How could he not when he had seen you do it?" Wistoria asked with narrowed eyes.

"Because," Damien drawled, causing Victoria\'s brows to furrow anymore. Seeing the frown on her face, he leaned forward and smoothed it with his fingers, "There are only a few animals which are resistant to venom. In case someone was to inject the venom willy-nilly, I am afraid that the effect would not be the same. In the worst-case scenario, it can also result in death."

Did he not know that Azriel was watching the entire process rather keenly? Of course he was, he was very much aware of it.

However, the reason he did not stop that man was because—

Damien wanted Azriel to try it on someone.

Though it would result in a tragic death, Damien knew that he had to be hard-hearted in some cases.

Azriel was a troublesome man, if he wasn\'t dealt with quickly he might become his enemy. So it was better to nip the bud before it could even bloom.

Wistoria\'s eyes widened as if she had realised something but maybe because of a silent tactic of understanding, she didn\'t say anything lest anyone was eavesdropping.

"For a fool, you are quite scheming," she told him.

"I am not a fool," Damien said to her with a grin. "But thank you."

The woman opened her mouth once again but halfway through, she paused and looked at something behind him.

"Whats – Whats wrong?" Damien questioned. When she did not reply, he turned to look over his shoulder but before he could look over, Wistoria reached out and caught hold of his collar.

"Woah what–" he exclaimed but the rest of his words were interrupted when something soft and caressing was placed on his lips.

Damien\'s eyes widened in surprise as he looked down at Wistoria who was kissing him. He felt her tongue caress his lips and he yelped out, and that woman took this as an opportunity to thrust her tongue into his mouth.

\'What the hell..\' Damien thought but a second later, he closed his eyes and started relishing the caress of her tongue and the soft nips that she delivered to his lips while sucking on his tongue.

That was until—

Knock. Knock.
