Chapter 43 - The Great Beatdown
Despite feeling infuriated at Ouyang Huihui, especially after realizing that she had called for backup that was willing to beat him up, Luo Ziling decided that retreating was the best course of action.
After what that b*tch had put him through today, he no longer felt like accepting Ouyang Lingyun’s invitation.
He was supposed to head to the bus station by himself, then hitch a ride back to the university. After that, he would come up with an excuse for not attending Ouyang Lingyun’s banquet. Of course, that included a sincere apology to the old man.
What he did not include in this equation was how Ouyang Huihui would use someone else against him.
Rage swept over Luo Ziling the moment he realized his attacker’s fist was just a few milliseconds away from smashing into his face.
Without dodging, he reached out his left arm and grabbed onto his opponent’s shoulder. Without giving him the chance to react, Luo Ziling pulled the man’s shoulder back toward him before striking his underarm with his right fist.
The complex movement was completed at lightning speed; it took, at most, a few seconds for Luo Ziling to be done with his counterattack.
A painful wail echoed through the air as Li Dongjun’s bodyguard slumped to one side after receiving the critical blow.
However, Luo Ziling still wasn’t done with him. After the successful counter, he sent his knee, sharply bent, into the abdomen of his opponent.
Luo Ziling funnelled all his anger into his strikes; he did not hold back his punches as he usually would.
After downing the man, the still raging Luo Ziling walked toward Li Dongjun who was too busy trying to make a good impression on Ouyang Huihui, being a true bootlicker.
While Li Dongjun’s bodyguard was by no means weak, Luo Ziling remained fearless against his larger foe and perhaps that was the contributing factor to his flawless victory.
After all, he was confident in his mastery of martial arts.
This, of course, was not something both Li Dongjun and Ouyang Huihui had expected.
Li Dongjun was confident in his bodyguard’s capability so he wasn’t particularly worried about taking down Luo Ziling
He stood beside Ouyang Huihui, asking her various questions while paying no heed to Luo Ziling who was slowly approaching them. He asked her about how Luo Ziling treated her, whether or not she was hurt as well as why she was wearing an army uniform today.
Li Dongjun had his reasons for asking such stupid questions. He had been planning to take both sisters as his lovers and naturally, he had to shower them with superficial concerns in order to do so.
Just then, he realized that something was off when instead of answering his questions, Ouyang Huihui stared somewhere else with a stunned expression.
“Hey! What are you gonna do?!” Panic overwhelmed Li Dongjun after realizing that his bodyguard had been utterly defeated by Luo Ziling. However, remembering that Ouyang Huihui was still standing beside him, he forced himself to choke up some bravery. “Who are you?! How dare you act this way?! I’m warning you-”
Li Dongjun wasn’t even halfway through his sentence when he was lifted into the air by Luo Ziling.
“How dare you order him to beat me up!” Luo Ziling proceeded to slam the man onto the ground. “You’re nothing but trash to me! Now piss off!”
The Luo Ziling as of now was completely different from the meek, indecisive boy that he was usually.
As if slamming him onto the ground wasn’t enough, Luo Ziling dug his heel into Li Dongjun’s body sharply.
Li Dongjun, whose belly had been stomped, cried out hysterically in pain.
Ouyang Huihui was dumbfounded. No matter how hard she looked at Luo Ziling, there was no way he could ever act so violently.
Luo Ziling shot her a deathly glare.
Right around then, the bodyguard who had received quite the brutal beating from Luo Ziling struggled back onto his feet before charging toward Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling was certainly surprised by this as he thought that the man would no longer be able to even stand, let alone charge toward him after such a merciless counterattack. He had been careless in thinking that he could knock his opponent out in one swift blow.
The bodyguard swung his leg in Luo Ziling’s direction multiple times. Each kick was as strong as a swinging bat, as evidenced by the whooshing sound his leg created as it cut through the air.
Luo Ziling no longer remained still as he did before. Swiftly, he hopped two steps back before retaliating with a few kicks of his own.
Li Dongjun’s bodyguard had definitely underestimated Luo Ziling severely. No mere mortal could possibly pull off an attack whilst in the middle of dodging attacks. After receiving a few of Luo Ziling’s fatal blows, he decided to take the more cautious approach.
Li Dongjun dug his phone out of his pocket and began calling for further backup.
While Li Dongjun was busy yelling into his phone for his men to come rescue them, Luo Ziling decided that offense was the best defense. After a few swift moves, he managed to land a direct blow on his opponent’s face, sending the bodyguard flying backward by a few feet. Seconds later, a large bump emerged smack in the middle of that man’s face.
There were even a few white dots that emerged from his mouth when he was tumbling backward.
Luo Ziling was still on the offensive. His grandfather had taught him that when facing a beast or an enemy, one must never show mercy. A fight must continue until the enemy completely loses the ability to fight back, which may mean till the death in certain circumstances, else more trouble ensues.
While his opponent was still in mid-air, Luo Ziling sent a foot smashing into the neck of the bodyguard, who grunted in pain as the direction in which he was travelling, changed.
Luo Ziling’s body remained in motion the entire time, like a floating butterfly. Raising his arm into the air, he chopped his palm squarely on his opponent’s shoulder.
Once more, the bodyguard grunted in pain as his body collapsed limply on the ground, kicking up a large cloud of dust.
The sound of body hitting the mud scared Ouyang Huihui speechless.
She stared at them with an empty look in her eyes.
Even Li Dongjun was temporarily stunned. Still, his senses returned to him quickly as he made a dash for his car. Upon climbing into the passenger seat, he made sure to lock all the doors before urging his backup troops to hurry up.
Luo Ziling did not bother with the cowardly Luo Ziling. Slowly, he moved toward Ouyang Huihui who had been scared witless.
“What is the meaning of this?!” he asked her furiously.
“Please don’t beat me.”
Ouyang Huihui at that moment, was acting like an innocent little bunny. She hastily retreated backward. Luo Ziling’s ability in opening up a can of whoop-ass was beyond her imagination and she feared that he would do the same thing as he had done to the bodyguard unto her. “Please! It was just a prank! I didn’t order them to beat you up! You can’t just beat up a girl!”
Luo Ziling responded with a silent, hostile glare.
Exactly at that moment, two black cars sped out from the main entrance of the residential area and then toward their direction. They then stopped meters away from the scene.
Before the cars even stopped though, a handful of men clad completely in black hopped out of the car doors.
Two of them rushed in front of the car in which Li Dongjun was taking refuge while the others charged toward Luo Ziling, encircling him.
