The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 221: A Different Kind of Date

A feeling of tenderness couldn’t help but well up in her heart.

In that incredibly wonderful moment, Luo Ziling felt as if time had stopped, and everything around him ceased to exist.

After a long while, Yang Qingyin finally moved, and Luo Ziling naturally moved his head away from resting on her hair.

“Junior, are you tired?” Yang Qingyin asked softly, “Let me down, and let’s find a place to sit!”

“All the spots are taken,” Luo Ziling looked around and saw that every possible seating place was occupied.

But eventually, he still stood up and let Yang Qingyin down.

“Shall we sit up in the tree?” He came up with another good idea.

“Ah?!” Still not fully awake, Yang Qingyin was startled by Luo Ziling’s suggestion and couldn’t help but freeze. “I can’t climb trees.”

“Watch me,” Luo Ziling said, and with agility, he climbed up the willow tree they had leaned against before, then hooked his legs around a horizontally extending branch and hung upside down, reaching out his hand to Yang Qingyin, “Give me your hand.”

Yang Qingyin hesitated for a moment, but in the end, she entrusted both her hands to Luo Ziling.

“Ah!” With a cry of surprise from Yang Qingyin, she was lifted into the air and pulled up into the tree by Luo Ziling.

As Luo Ziling pulled her up, she felt as if she was soaring through the clouds. Before she could fully react, she found herself being held tightly in his embrace.

She was surprised to see that Luo Ziling, using the strength in his waist, managed to pull himself up while holding her and placed her onto a branch.

While Yang Qingyin sat on the branch feeling thrilled, Luo Ziling also adjusted his position and sat with his back against hers. He had effortlessly completed the challenging move.

Thus, the two of them sat on a tree branch about three to four meters off the ground, their figures hidden among the willow branches.

In front of them was the glittering Lake Wuming, and the spot Luo Ziling had chosen was perfect. Behind them, they were hidden by weeping willows, invisible to others; in front, there was a large open space, just right for viewing the lake and the distant scenery.

“How is this place for enjoying the view?” Luo Ziling held onto a nearby tree branch, allowing Yang Qingyin to lean against him, with his other arm around her, “Doesn’t it feel better than sitting down there?”

“Sitting high and looking far,” Yang Qingyin, no longer afraid, her earlier trepidation vanished, turned her head towards Luo Ziling with a happy smile and said, “This is the best spot to enjoy the scenery by Lake Wuming.”

“Should we sit here again next time we come to the lake?” Luo Ziling whispered a suggestion.

After thinking for a moment, Yang Qingyin playfully said, “Even on a snowy day? Won’t you be worried about me getting cold?”

“How could you possibly get cold with me as your big heater?” Luo Ziling grinned, “On a snowy day, we won’t come here to freeze, it won’t be fun when the weather gets cooler.”

“Then let’s come here several more times while the weather is still warm,” Yang Qingyin beamed at Luo Ziling and snuggled into his embrace.

“Mhm,” Luo Ziling responded softly and hugged Yang Qingyin tighter.

The two of them chatted casually, surrounded by silence, with only the chirping of some night insects and the sound of the wind passing through the willow trees.

There were quite a few people around the lake, but they made little noise. The sounds they made could not be heard from a distance.

As they sat like this, they didn’t have any more intimate gestures.

“It’s getting a bit chilly,” after sitting for about twenty minutes, Yang Qingyin nestled closer and turned her head to Luo Ziling, “Shall we go back? You have a military training performance tomorrow.”

“Alright,” Luo Ziling agreed.

“How do we get down?” Yang Qingyin looked at the ground, which was taller than her height, “Can we get down?”

“If I catch you from below, would you dare to jump?”

After thinking for a moment, Yang Qingyin nodded lightly, “I dare!”

“Then good, I’ll catch you from below, and you jump down,” Luo Ziling pointed to the side of the willow tree that lacked branches, “Just jump straight down.”

“Okay,” Yang Qingyin seemed to have no fear and nodded decisively.

Luo Ziling instructed Yang Qingyin to hold the branches and stand properly, explaining how to jump before leaping down himself.

Seeing Luo Ziling ready below to catch her, Yang Qingyin took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and let go to jump down.

As she leaped, a wave of fear rose in her heart.

But her falling body was immediately caught by a pair of strong arms, instantly halting her descent, yet Yang Qingyin still dared not open her eyes.

“Were you scared?” Luo Ziling whispered into Yang Qingyin’s ear.

“A little,” Yang Qingyin finally came back to her senses and shyly smiled at Luo Ziling, “I’ve never jumped from such a height before.”

“There’s a first time for everything. With me here to catch you, don’t be afraid of anything,” Luo Ziling said with a proud grin.

“I’m glad you didn’t let me down,” Yang Qingyin responded with a smile.

“The young master never disappoints.”
