The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 257 - 257 I Will Be Your Ally

“Sis,” Yang Qingye giggled, “today our dad and mom called me back home and asked about my future brother-in-law. After asking, mom told me to come out and see if you were on a date with brother-in-law, so I scurried over. Sis, where is he? He didn’t leave, did he?”

“What did mom and dad tell you?” Yang Qingyin’s face was as cold as ice, “Don’t hide anything, tell me everything.”

“Sis, what’s wrong?” Yang Qingye looked completely surprised, “Mom didn’t say much, just asked me to see what the guy you’re dating looks like. I knew that mom and dad already knew you had a boyfriend, and since I wanted to get to know him too, I accepted the errand. I sent you messages and called, but you ignored me, so I had to find you myself.”

As he said this, Yang Qingye’s face was sleazy, as if he had discovered some super juicy gossip about Yang Qingyin.

“What did you tell them?” Yang Qingyin’s face grew even colder.

Only then did Yang Qingye sense that the situation was not as he had thought, and he couldn’t help feeling nervous: “Sis, what’s wrong?”

“Answer my previous question,” Yang Qingyin seemed on the verge of exploding.

“I told them about running into you at the plaza, I didn’t say anything else because I don’t know anything else,” Yang Qingye looked wronged and then asked again, “Sis, what exactly happened?”

“I’m here eating alone right now, as you can see. Report back as is, and if you dare make up stories, see how I’ll deal with you.” Yang Qingyin still spoke with anger in her voice.

“Sis, don’t be mad,” Yang Qingye panicked and quickly stood up, walking over to Yang Qingyin and began kneading her shoulders, “Sis, what exactly happened? Tell me, this is killing me. Is it that mom and dad disapprove of your relationship with brother-in-law? Hehe, didn’t they promise you they wouldn’t meddle in the choices you make?”

Yang Qingyin slapped Yang Qingye’s hand away and ordered him to sit opposite her.

With no other choice, Yang Qingye sat down across from Yang Qingyin like a wronged little wife.

“Sis, is it really like that? Do mom and dad not want to see you guys together and are trying to break you up? They sent me to see if you were meeting with him, right?”

Yang Qingye was actually quite smart and guessed the general situation immediately, though he didn’t think about the matter at a deeper level.

“His last name is Luo,” Yang Qingyin said coldly.

“What?” Yang Qingye didn’t catch on immediately.

“His name is Luo Ziling, his mother is Ling Ruonan.” Yang Qingyin glared at Yang Qingye as she revealed Luo Ziling’s identity.

“Ah?!” Yang Qingye jumped in shock, standing up from his chair suddenly.

Too agitated, he knocked over the cup in front of him, tea spilled all over the table, and he hurriedly pulled out tissues to wipe it up in a fluster.

Yang Qingyin didn’t speak, just slowly stirring the coffee in front of her.

“Sister, brother-in-law is… Luo Ziling’s son?” A stunned Yang Qingye sat back down and asked with a stutter, “Isn’t that the man born to the man who caused Uncle’s death?”

Yang Qingyin didn’t answer, simply staring woodenly at her coffee cup.

“I completely understand now,” Yang Qingye smacked his forehead as if a light bulb went off, “That’s exactly why Mom and Dad strongly oppose, forbidding you to associate with him, right?”

“Yang Qingye,” Yang Qingyin called out her brother’s full name with emphasis.

Startled by this, Yang Qingye quickly straightened up, then acted like a coy young man, “Sister, I’m clueless, which is why I’m asking you. Don’t hide things from me, I’m your staunch ally. All that grudge from the older generation, it’s all for family interests. If Luo Ziling is the person you like, why bother with all that? Just bravely pursue your own happiness.”

Being twins, Yang Qingye’s personality actually resembled Yang Qingyin’s to some extent: both inherently strong-willed. However, Yang Qingyin’s was more apparent. Thanks to their family’s favorable conditions, the typical playboy Yang Qingye inevitably picked up some bad habits and was quite casual in matters of love. But one thing he had in common with Yang Qingyin was that he would definitely choose a woman he loved for his wife. If his family tried to arrange a marriage for him or sought a political union, he would firmly oppose it.

He was somewhat aware of the incident back then and understood that his uncle died because of Ling Ruonan’s affair, but he, like Yang Qingyin, felt sympathy for Ling Ruonan.

Of course, a significant reason for his sympathy toward Ling Ruonan was that she was a very beautiful woman with a great figure and was also very assertive.

Yang Qingye liked that type of woman; he believed his sister was also such a person.

Because of his sympathy for Ling Ruonan, he, like Yang Qingyin, had little sympathy for their uncle whom they had never met but who had died tragically after losing the woman he loved — after all, he had never met him.

Yang Qingye believed that if a woman didn’t love you and wanted to be with another man, why not let go? Why cling to her desperately?

He thought his uncle was incompetent and petty, therefore unworthy of sympathy.

But he could never have imagined that the handsome young man he had encountered in the square that day, hand in hand with his sister, was actually Ling Ruonan’s son. The son of the Yang Family’s arch-enemy, who no matter what, shouldn’t be romantically involved with a woman of the Yang Family—Yang Qingye was very clear on this.

Yang Qingyin hadn’t expected Yang Qingye to respond this way and was momentarily stunned.

“Sister, don’t be afraid that I’ll betray you. If you really want to be with him, then persist, fight for it. I’m your unwavering ally, I’ll help you, and I will support you in whatever decision you make. By the way,” after pledging his loyalty, Yang Qingye asked Yang Qingyin in a whisper, “where have you hidden brother-in-law?”

“I came out to shop alone, to drink coffee alone,” Yang Qingyin of course wouldn’t easily trust Yang Qingye’s stance, but her expression had already softened slightly.

“Okay then,” Yang Qingye didn’t believe Yang Qingyin’s words but indeed saw no one else, nor any signs of others entering the private room, thus dared not probe further.

After thinking for a moment, he whispered, “How about you ask him out now, for you two to enjoy some romantic time together? I’ll cover for you and take Xiaoli and the other two away.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Qingyin abruptly looked up.
