The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 337: 337 Do you know?

Ruonan didn’t sit down immediately but first inquired about Ziling’s injuries.

In Qingyin’s presence, she carefully examined Ziling’s wounds.

Although Ziling felt uncomfortable, he obediently let Ruonan check his injuries in front of Qingyin.

Ruonan also asked in detail about his classes and whether Ziling was keeping up with his schoolwork.

Ruonan’s concern warmed Ziling’s heart, and Qingyin on the side was quite touched as well.

After sitting down and chatting with them for a while, and having eaten something, Ziling stood up, smiling, and said to Ruonan, “Mom, I’m too full, I’m going out for a walk. I’ll eat more later. You two chat for a while, and I’ll come back later to keep you company.”

Ruonan looked at Ziling in surprise but didn’t refuse.

When Ziling left the private room, he saw Wuyue standing outside and immediately went to chat with her.

“Sister Wuyue, have you had dinner?” Ziling whispered.

“I’m waiting for Miss here,” Wuyue didn’t directly answer Ziling’s question.

“Then you surely haven’t eaten. Should I ask the waiter to bring you something?” Because Wuyue had always been kind to him, and Ziling knew she was loyally devoted to his mother, so he had a good impression of this beautiful, reticent woman.

Knowing she hadn’t had dinner, he immediately thought to solve her hunger issue.

“Young Master, I’m fine,” Wuyue felt a bit embarrassed by Ziling’s enthusiasm.

She was already accustomed to guarding Ruonan’s safety on an empty stomach.

“Constant hunger and irregular meals can cause stomach problems,” Ziling pointed to the area outside their private room where food was placed. “If you don’t want to go inside to eat, then I’ll ask the waiter to bring the food out here. You can eat while my mom is talking to someone.”

Saying this, he ordered a bowl of seafood noodles for Wuyue without letting her refuse.

After giving the instructions, he smiled at a slightly embarrassed Wuyue and ran outside for his walk.

Ziling walked outside for about twenty minutes before returning. When he came back, he saw an empty noodle bowl beside Wuyue, but he didn’t ask any further and just chuckled. He didn’t go back into the private room right away, but stood there and started chatting idly with Wuyue.

He asked Wuyue about her past, and when he learned that she was a retired marine, he was greatly surprised.

“Sister Wuyue, I didn’t expect you to have been a special forces soldier. That’s really impressive. There must be very few female soldiers as beautiful as you, right?”

“Haven’t you met one before?” Wuyue looked at Ziling curiously.

“Ah, indeed, she is one. Just as beautiful as you and also skilled,” Ziling chuckled and then said to Wuyue with a touch of mystery, “Sister Wuyue, how about we spar sometime to see who is more skilled? If one is better, they could teach the other combat skills, what do you say?”

“Although I’ve never seen the Young Master fight, I know I am certainly not your match,” Wuyue admitted embarrassingly, “I might not be able to handle someone from Dragon Rise one-on-one, let alone two against one. That Lin Lan is much more skilled than I am.”

“You know about all these things?” Ziling was quite surprised.

Wuyue nodded and said nothing.

After thinking for a while, Luo Ziling spoke softly again, “How about this, one day I’ll teach you what I know, the martial arts my grandfather taught me. He’s a very formidable master. Also, I’ll give you some medicines, just in case you need them.”

Wuyue, of course, understood Luo Ziling’s intention and readily agreed, “Okay, thank you, Young Master.”

Luo Ziling hoped she would become more skilled, adding an extra layer of security for Ling Ruonan’s safety.

“Don’t call me ‘Young Master,’” Luo Ziling was uncomfortable with the title, “just call me Ziling. Calling me ‘Young Master’ makes it sound as if my mom is a landlady.”

Wuyue was nearly amused by Luo Ziling’s candid speech, but she didn’t quibble with him over it.

At that moment, Ling Ruonan’s voice came from the private room, “Ling’er, come in!”

Luo Ziling and Wuyue were chatting by the door, and even though their voices were very quiet, Ling Ruonan still heard them. Having finished discussing matters with Yang Qingyin, she promptly called Luo Ziling in.

When Luo Ziling entered, he saw that the two women hadn’t eaten much. There wasn’t much difference in the amount of food on the table from when he had left, and he curiously asked, “Were you so busy talking that you forgot to eat?”

“It’s all right, I’m full,” Ling Ruonan smiled at Luo Ziling, “let’s go back early for some rest. Don’t exercise for the next few days, focus on healing your wounds first.”

Then, turning to Yang Qingyin, she said, “Qingyin, thank you for taking care of Ziling these past two days.”

“Mrs. Ling, it’s nothing,” Yang Qingyin’s smile was a bit forced, “he’s pretty good at medicine and treated himself. The recovery was so quick. If he went to the hospital, he would definitely have been admitted, and in just two days, it wouldn’t have been possible to heal this well.”

“His grandfather was good at medicine; he studied medicine since he was young, so his medical skills shouldn’t be bad,” Ling Ruonan spoke with a hint of pride, “after he graduates from university, his medical skills should get even better.”

“Definitely,” Yang Qingyin smiled at Luo Ziling, her smile now much more natural.

After sitting and chatting a while longer, Ling Ruonan prepared to leave.

“Ziling, Qingyin, I’m going to go first. You two should head back soon too,” Ling Ruonan stood up and then instructed Luo Ziling, “The day after tomorrow is Saturday, the Mid-Autumn Festival. I’ll have Wuyue come to pick you up, and we’ll celebrate the festival together. Whatever you want to eat, just tell me.”

“Okay,” Luo Ziling readily agreed, “I’ll tell you what I want to eat then. I’ll come over on Saturday and discuss some things with you.”

“Alright,” Ling Ruonan didn’t ask any further and after nodding, she gave Luo Ziling a long look and straightened his clothes before smiling at Yang Qingyin and then taking her leave.

“What did my mom talk to you about?” After sitting down again, Luo Ziling quietly asked Yang Qingyin.

“She talked about the things that happened recently, and discussed who might have orchestrated the assassination attempt on you that day,” Yang Qingyin answered Luo Ziling’s question, then said somewhat sheepishly, “Because of me, you’ve encountered so many things, and in the future, there will probably be even more. You need to be careful yourself; more people might want your life.”

“Thanks for the warning, I’ll definitely be more careful.”

“Let’s head back too!” suggested Yang Qingyin.

Luo Ziling had no objections, so after settling the bill, they walked back hand in hand.

“Your mom doesn’t seem to urge us not to hang out together anymore,” Yang Qingyin whispered along the way, “I can’t figure out why she would have such a change of attitude. Do you know why?”

While saying this, Yang Qingyin looked up and gazed quietly at Luo Ziling.
