The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 388: 388: Mr. Fang

However, these two groups of classmates obviously couldn’t mingle; Ouyang Huihui’s three roommates sat together separately, and the other students crowded together, loudly discussing something.

When Luo Ziling and his friends arrived, they immediately joined Ouyang Huihui’s three roommates for a chat.

All freshmen, they weren’t used to such occasions, and facing those wealthy peers, Ouyang Huihui’s three roommates were initially quite reserved. Seeing classmates approaching, they immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Cao Jianhui, Li Fuming, and Wu Longjiang were warmly welcomed, and the group quickly hit it off in conversation.

Luo Ziling sat down quietly beside them but didn’t say much, just occasionally chiming in.

Birds of a feather flock together; Ouyang Huihui’s former classmates and friends, all from extraordinary wealthy families, had always lived in luxury and therefore were quite arrogant. They paid little attention to Ouyang Huihui’s three plainly dressed roommates and kept to their own circles, chatting away.

After Luo Ziling came in, Ouyang Huihui behaved very differently; they had thought this man was extraordinary.

But unexpectedly, after Luo Ziling and his three friends arrived, they went to chat with those plainly dressed girls. Only then did they realize that these were also impoverished students, and the boys and girls who had originally turned their attention to Luo Ziling also turned away with some disdain.

Ouyang Huihui was also turning twenty this year.

A twentieth birthday is very important to young people; most want to celebrate it grandly, and Ouyang Huihui was no exception.

Therefore, today she had booked a luxurious private room and invited many friends and classmates, dressing herself up beautifully, all to create some wonderful memories.

“Luo Ziling, chat with your classmates for a while. I’ll introduce you to some other people later,” Ouyang Huihui hoped that Luo Ziling would get to know some of her old close classmates and friends. She felt it was the right thing to do, so she took special care to mention it to Luo Ziling.

“It’s fine, you go ahead,” Luo Ziling smiled at Ouyang Huihui as someone pushed open the door to the private room. “Don’t worry about us.”

“I asked them to prepare a Western meal that will be served later. Help yourselves to some fruit and pastries for now,” Ouyang Huihui said to Luo Ziling with another sweet smile.

Watching Ouyang Huihui gracefully welcome the other guests, Cao Jianhui couldn’t help but whisper to Luo Ziling, “Beauty Ouyang sure treats you differently!”

Seeing Cao Jianhui’s gossipy expression while he spoke, Luo Ziling retorted irritably, “If you have an idle mouth, eat some fruit.”

Cao Jianhui didn’t take offense, chuckled, and indeed started eating fruit.

Ouyang Huihui’s roommates were well aware of Luo Ziling’s reputation, it’s just that they hadn’t recognized him when he first arrived.

After Luo Ziling sat down, they recognized that this was the newly popular school heartthrob and immediately grew enthusiastic towards him. All three girls chatted and laughed with Luo Ziling, much to the annoyance of Cao Jianhui, Li Fuming, and Wu Longjiang, who were trying hard to please them.

While Ouyang Huihui was speaking to a rather pretty girl she seemed quite close with, Luo Ziling got up to use the restroom. When he came out, Ouyang Huihui called out to him.

“Ziling, let me introduce you,” Ouyang Huihui called Luo Ziling over and made introductions, “This is my high school classmate, Li Jiahui, one of my best friends.” She then turned to the girl named Li Jiahui and said, “This is Luo Ziling, a classmate from our school’s Clinical Medicine Class One.”

Although the girl named Li Jiahui wasn’t as beautiful as Ouyang Huihui, she had a pretty face and a nice figure, and it was obvious that she was a rich girl, the type with a nose in the air. Seeing Luo Ziling’s messy hair, plain clothes, and the somewhat dated glasses that were falling apart, Li Jiahui clearly looked somewhat disdainful but still gave Luo Ziling a smile for the sake of Ouyang Huihui.

Luo Ziling just smiled back and said hello, then, without saying much more, flashed Ouyang Huihui a smile and returned to his seat.

“Huihui, it seems like you and this Luo Ziling are pretty cozy,” Li Jiahui asked, full of curiosity, after Luo Ziling walked away, “You couldn’t have fallen for him, could you? Why else would you specifically introduce us?”

“Don’t talk nonsense!” Ouyang Huihui’s face flushed slightly, thankfully the dim light in the private room meant Li Jiahui couldn’t tell.

“He doesn’t seem to be anything special?” Li Jiahui, looking puzzled, glanced at Luo Ziling who had sat back down and then gripping Ouyang Huihui’s hand, “You wouldn’t have lowered your standards, would you?”

Ouyang Huihui had not yet answered when the door to the private room was pushed open again. Seeing who the visitor was, she froze.

The person who entered was tall and well-built, extremely handsome, and carried himself with an exceptional presence. Ouyang Huihui immediately recognized him as Mr. Fang, Fang Dongxun. The person following Fang Dongxun, Ouyang Huihui did not know.

Li Jiahui was quicker to react; she immediately wriggled out of Ouyang Huihui’s grasp and hurried forward.

“Oh, if it isn’t Mr. Fang,” Li Jiahui, who had been quite proud in front of Luo Ziling, immediately put on a different face after walking over, smiling as brightly as a flower with a voice unusually soft, “Mr. Fang is also here for Huihui’s birthday party. Huihui is so lucky.”

Fang Dongxun nodded graciously at Li Jiahui without paying much attention and instead walked directly towards Ouyang Huihui who had approached him.

“Huihui, you’re having a birthday and didn’t even tell me. Luckily, I remembered your birthday,” Fang Dongxun said, taking a box from the young man following him and handing it to Ouyang Huihui, “Happy birthday, may you have this day every year and grow more beautiful with each one.”

“Thank you,” Ouyang Huihui took the box and smiled gracefully, “I am extremely grateful Mr. Fang could attend my humble birthday today.”

Fang Dongxun surveyed the room, then smilingly asked Ouyang Huihui, “Your sister didn’t come?”

“She’s busy and might not make it,” Ouyang Huihui smiled and gestured with her hand, “Please feel free to sit anywhere, Mr. Fang. I’ll come and chat with you in a bit.”

“All right, it’s your party, and I’ll follow your lead today,” said Fang Dongxun, nodding politely, and then strode into the private room.

The others who had originally disdained engaging with Luo Ziling and his group all stood up when Fang Dongxun entered, preparing to curry favor, but Fang Dongxun did not seem interested.

Suddenly, he spotted Luo Ziling, seated very inconspicuously, and after a brief pause, headed straight towards him.
