American Tax Officer

Chapter 133: Chapter 106: Preparing Ammunition, Ready to Deal with the IRS at Any Time_2

"Tewin, where are Weidingled and the others?"

"They... they're receiving goods in the warehouse..."

The tone of this young Native American man became somewhat unnatural when talking about receiving goods.

"What goods? Tell them to come see me immediately!"

The National Tax Bureau's armed forces had made a fully-armed appearance here, clearly aimed at Dieter. He needed to gather the tribe's leadership to figure out how to deal with the situation.

About 1 kilometer away from the Chieftain's Manor, in a warehouse.

Two trucks were parked there, while a dozen or so young Native Americans continuously moved crates of sealed items from the trucks and into the warehouse.

In the warehouse's rest area, a man with a slicked-back hairdo and sunglasses sat leisurely with his legs crossed, drinking a type of tea unique to Native Americans.

Opposite him sat Tewin and a square-faced Native American man.

A couple of minutes later, a Native American man walked over and said to Tewin, "The count is correct!"

Tewin nodded and then took out a check. He wrote down an amount of 5 million US Dollars, tore it off, and handed it over to the man across from him.

After taking a look at it, the man put it into his inner pocket, then stood up, extended his hand to Tewin, and said, "Mr. Tewin, if you need anything like this in the future, feel free to contact us. Aside from aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, F35s, F16s, Apaches... we can't get our hands on these strategic weapons, but for everything else, as long as the money is right, I can get it for you!"

Tewin nodded and replied, "Send my regards to Mr. Gabourey."

"Certainly, I'll take my leave now!"

After dropping this line, the man turned around and left.

The square-faced Native American man next to Tewin, wearing an anxious expression, asked, "Tewin, are you really planning to confront the National Tax Bureau with all these arms purchases? Senator Angstorm has made it very clear, the armed forces of the National Tax Bureau are not to be trifled with, just our guys..."

The man initially wanted to say "a bunch of nobodies," but considering it an insult to the Tribal Warriors, he swallowed the words back down.

Despite being granted many privileges by the American Government as historical compensation, the American side is quite wary of them.

For example, Native Americans can't enter military academies like West Point Military Academy to receive professional military training.

Furthermore, their access to weapons and equipment is strictly restricted, leaving them with virtually no heavy weaponry.

Even though they have now acquired a batch of sophisticated weapons and equipment, along with some heavy weapons, through the arms dealers.

But if their untrained young men and the Guard Squad were to confront the National Tax Bureau's elite armed forces, it would be a miracle if they weren't beaten thoroughly.

"Don't worry so much, Weidingled. This is just a precaution. And the weapons might not even need to be used. They are more for deterrence, to add weight to our negotiating position!"

Although Tewin wanted to firmly protect his son, he had no intention of engaging in a full-on confrontation with the National Tax Bureau.

Just as he had said, this was merely to strengthen their position in negotiations.

If a conflict with the National Tax Bureau's armed forces did ensue, these weapons would at least command some respect.

Without them, they might well be at the mercy of others!

"Do we not need to inform the Chieftain?"

"No need, he has enough on his plate already. Let's not bother him with this..."

Just as the two were still conversing, the strapping young man who had previously reported to Gael hurried in, panting and said, "The people from the National Tax Bureau are at the entrance to our reserve, the Chieftain wants you to see him!"

Upon hearing that the people from the National Tax Bureau had arrived, the expressions of the two men changed instantly, but they quickly regained composure and hurriedly walked out and got into a car.

When the two arrived at the Chieftain's Manor Hall, besides Gael himself, the other high-ranking members of the tribe had also arrived early.

Seeing the two arrive late, Gael could not hide his annoyance and questioned, "Where have you two been?"

Tewin was slightly sheepish but replied, "I... went to receive some goods being delivered to the tribe."

Since it was his own brother, Gael couldn't get too upset and instead returned to the matter at hand, saying, "The people from the National Tax Bureau came fully armed, and they are led personally by Director David. According to the Guard Squad, they seem ready to use force if they can't get in, what do you think?"

"The people from the National Tax Bureau have no authority to enforce laws on our reserve land!"

"Hmph, they dare to come to our reserve fully armed. If the other tribes knew about this, where would our tribe put its face?"

"..."

Native Americans are used to lording over their own reserves.

Even knowing the power of the National Tax Bureau, seeing them dare to come fully armed to their doorstep still provoked a feeling of being seriously challenged.

Gael frowned slightly and replied, "I called you here to discuss strategies, not to complain. Right now, it's just David leading the team, but once their armed forces arrive, the conversation won't be so easy!"

At this statement, the room fell silent instantly.

Clearly, the words "National Tax Bureau Armed Forces" were enough to instill fear in them.

After a moment, one of the senior tribesmen suggested, "If that's the case, let's let him in to talk. They haven't shown any intention to deploy their armed forces yet, which means they want to negotiate!"

"Exactly, David probably doesn't want to use force either and wants to negotiate. Let's let him in. Our tribe doesn't have much, but we have plenty of money and beautiful women. As long as he is willing to talk, however much money he wants, whatever kind of woman he wants, we'll let him choose. I don't believe a Director from the National Tax Bureau would be so duty-bound!"

"I agree with Raman's words. Don't underestimate David for not taking money in the Lake District, that's because the National Tax Bureau is watching there. But now, on our reserve land, no one can monitor him. Everyone is human, everyone has desires, unless he is a saint. Whatever he wants, our tribe can surely satisfy him. Once he's had his fill, this matter might well be dropped!"

Listening to the options presented by his men, Gael also felt quite convinced.

The people of modern America live in big cities, accustomed to various glitzy scenes, but they seldom experience our Indian Tribe's almost primitively authentic 'local customs'.

Consequently, city folk entering their tribe and experiencing the various 'games' would quickly capitulate.

As for David... he's a young man, after all.

A young man, unless he is a saint or a eunuch, cannot resist the impact of various desires—that's quite normal!

With that in mind, Gael turned to Weidingled and commanded, "Weidingled, you go personally to the West District Entrance and bring that David here. Afterwards, take him on a tour around our tribe and give him a proper 'arrangement'!"

As an Elder of their tribe, having Weidingled personally welcome David was, in Gael's view, offering significant respect.

"Me?"

Weidingled pointed to his own nose, clearly uneasy.

He had just received a shipment of arms with Tewin, preparing to deal with an armed enforcement from the National Tax Bureau, and now he was expected to play the 'host'. This made him somewhat apprehensive.

"What, are you unwilling?"

"No, no, no, Chieftain, of course I'm willing, I'll go right now..."

"Wait a minute..."

Just as Weidingled was about to turn and leave, one of the Elders sitting on the side thought of something and interrupted, "There are too many of them, and every one of them is fully armed. If we let them in like this, it will affect our business!"
