Transmigrating over ten thousand years late, I was forced to become a mighty presence

Chapter 306: 148 Planting the Sun and Moon _2

On the God Tree of the Mountain, all surplus branches and foliage have already been pruned.

In the chilly autumn wind, two green buds are quietly growing on the great tree, each seeming to hold some unknown new life within them.

Three-field Yuu gazes spellbound at the green buds on the tree, but then hears Shen Yuan’s leisurely spoken words resonate.

“What I am planting are the sun and the moon!”

That day, Three-field Yuu stayed on the mountain for an entire dusk before returning home.

As soon as Three-field Yuu returned home, he was immediately met with a fierce scolding from his furious father. Two bamboo sticks at home were snapped in the process, leaving Three-field Yuu bedridden for two full days.

As for the village’s worship to the Mountain God, Three-field Yuu hadn’t had a chance to inform the villagers when he heard that a few intelligent demons had arrived in the village, accusing the elders of conducting ceremonies in the name of the Mountain God.

The Mountain God requires no worship!

Afterwards, in front of the entire village, the demons devoured the village elders.

Since then, the surrounding villages have grown increasingly reverent of the Mountain God, yet the custom of worshipping the Mountain God vanished.

Three-field Yuu kept growing day by day. His baby sister, who was born to his mother, also survived the winter due to an abundance of food.

Three-field Yuu was very grateful to the Lord Mountain God and ran off towards the mountains whenever he had time.

Despite being caught and severely beaten by his father a few times, he was surprised to find that no matter how badly swollen his behind was, it would heal quickly when he climbed up to the mountain.

After discovering this wonderful phenomenon, Three-field Yuu’s interest in climbing the mountain intensified.

It was not every time that Three-field Yuu could see the Lord Mountain God who was farming on the mountain.

Often the Lord Mountain God was not on the mountain, and upon reaching the mountaintop, Three-field Yuu could only see the Lord Mountain God’s tiny cottage, along with a rusty longsword hanging outside the cottage.

Gradually, Three-field Yuu began to interact with other beings on the mountain.

The wild boars and green snakes in the forest, along with sparrows and crows on the trees, became good friends with Three-field Yuu.

After the passing of winter when early spring arrived the next year, Three-field Yuu secretly took a bundle of rice seeds from home and planted all of these in the eight patches of farmland around the God Tree of the Mountain when the Lord Mountain God wasn’t home.

Three-field Yuu thought that it was such a waste that no crops were grown on the eight patches of farmland cultivated by the Lord Mountain God on the mountaintop named Primal Chaos Eight-Trigrams Array Formation. He assumed it must be due to the Lord Mountain God lacking seeds.

Even though he was again harshly punished at home, Three-field Yuu felt very happy in his heart that he had helped the Lord Mountain God.

The quality of the eight plots of farmland on the mountain exceeded Three-field Yuu’s expectations. Just a few short days after the seeds were tossed, budding rice plants could be seen.

When the Lord Mountain God came home and found himself baffled by the sight of his eight rice fields, Three-field Yuu ran out excitedly to take credit.

In the end, Three-field Yuu was beaten.

This time, Three-field Yuu found that the injuries left by the Lord Mountain God on his body could not be healed by ascending the mountain.

Three-field Yuu stubbornly believed that it was because the sun and the moon planted by the Lord Mountain God had not yet matured. Conversely, the rice he had planted had matured, and to save face, the Lord Mountain God had beaten him.

As the only person in dozens of miles around who could stroll up to the mountain at any time, Three-field Yuu frequently brought back some herbs and food from the mountain to supplement his family’s livelihood.

There was even one time when he brought back a piece of precious Spiritual Medicine. It was taken by a passing trader but the money exchanged for it allowed his family to acquire an additional piece of land.

According to tradition, Three-field Yuu should henceforth change his name to Four-field Yuu to facilitate the inheritance of family property, but he refused the request to change his name.

After meeting the Lord Mountain God, Three-field Yuu felt that four plots of farmland were insufficient for him. His target had already changed to have eight plots of farmland for himself, just like the Lord Mountain God.

Just like that, time passed day by day, and Three-field Yuu kept growing older day by day.

Even after marrying and starting a family, Three-field Yuu continued his routine of paying respects to the Lord Mountain God on the mountain every other day.

Even though most of the time he didn’t see the Lord Mountain God, Three-field Yuu would still use the farming tools in front of the wooden house to cultivate the Eight-Triagrams farmland on the mountain top in order to increase the yield of rice in the coming year.

And throughout those years when Three-field Yuu was growing up, he started to get acquainted with affairs beyond the surrounding villages.

Three-field Yuu heard from a passing merchant that in a land of a hundred nations there was a kingdom named Mu which was bestowed by a dynasty known as Great Yin, becoming the rightful authority of this world under the human order.

The ruler of the Mu Kingdom received the title of king, declaring himself Mu King, and began to conquer the other hundred nations.

In just ten short years, well over half of the nations within the hundred nations had fallen under Mu King’s rule. The control of many other nations remained intact merely because they were too far away but it was foreseeable that they too would be defeated by Mu King shortly.

A merchant who had been to the Mu Kingdom capital city said that the city walls were well over ten zhang high, the city was of unparalleled prosperity and could accommodate millions of people.

Additionally, as a city graced with the Human Dao Fate, no demons could be seen there, even at dusk. If a demon were to appear inside the capital, it would be suppressed by Human Dao Fate.

Even if people were to sleep on the streets there, they would not have to worry about being killed by demons.

The villagers were all astounded by the prosperity and strength of the Mu Kingdom’s capital, yet only Three-field Yuu, upon hearing the merchant’s words, became intensely interested in that kingdom called Great Yin.
