Chapter 131: A Place Where You Can’t See Your Hand in Front of Your Face

Chapter 131: A Place Where You Can’t See Your Hand in Front of Your Face

Today of all days, a really important meeting. Apart from being late, how could Qin Youxuan have her phone turned off?

Thinking back to their latest call, Ning Yanan sensed something was off, she repeated the directions she had given to Qin Youxuan without asking further questions.

Wrapping up, she added, “Xuan is assertive, but certainly not a bad person. She generally doesn’t fall out with people. If she is in danger, the likely culprits would be people from the Qin Family!”

Actually, she wanted to mention Jin Lan, but given where she stands in Dan Hanjie’s relationship with Qin Youxuan, she had to warn him with reservation.

“Beep beep…”

As soon as she finished speaking, the phone was hung up.

“It must be Mr. Jie, even hanging up the phone so suave!” Ning Yanan clicked her tongue, but as the thought crossed her mind again that Qin Youxuan had gone missing, she shivered.

She handed over the work she had at the time to her colleagues and immediately delved into the Qin Group, searching floor by floor.

She harbored the faint hope that maybe Qin Youxuan arrived but didn’t go through the main entrance in order to avoid media.

“Mr. Jie, we’ve already sent someone to check. Miss Qin’s car is parked not far from the tunnel, but there’s no one in the car. We can confirm that Miss Qin has disappeared.” Yao walked into Dan Hanjie’s office with a serious face.

“Keep looking, pinpoint her location as soon as possible, and send it to me.” Dan Hanjie’s brow furrowed darkly. He stood up abruptly from his chair, grabbed his suit jacket, and made his way out.

Yao stood frozen in place. By the time he snapped out of his daze, Dan Hanjie had disappeared from sight.

He blinked, bewildered.

He had been by Mr. Jie’s side for so many years and hadn’t seen him this panicked in a long time.

Yao shuddered all over and quickly followed him out.

“Ouch!”

Qin Youxuan slowly opened her eyes in a daze. The room was pitch-black, and the back of her head was vaguely numb and painful.

Her petite body tried to move, only to realize that she was tied up like a rice dumpling, completely immobilized.

Recalling the scene before she fainted, her consciousness came rushing back.

A shocking idea penetrated her brain: she had been kidnapped!

Damn! Whoever had done this was aiming to kill her with such a heavy blow.

Qin Youxuan leaned her head against the wall, rubbed the back of her head, and gasped in pain.

Struggling to open her eyes, she scanned this pitch-black place.

Darkness, endless darkness.

She could see nothing and hear nothing. In the peaceful space, it seemed as if her breath was the only sound.

Where was this?

Qin Youxuan shrank back, the closed darkness instantly creating fear in her mind.

There was already tape over her mouth. She couldn’t even call for help.

She shuffled her small bottom, and her restricted hands behind her back, after a while of feeling around, only touched a cold surface. Upon closer inspection, it was like a wall but not quite.

What the hell was this?

Qin Youxuan took several deep breaths to calm herself down, then lifted her bound hands with all her strength.

After a good while of feeling around, she realized it might be a partition of a makeshift room.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she rotated her body and rubbed up and down the board, and finally with despair, she confirmed that her phone had been taken away.

As her heart sank, a shrill male voice reached her ears.

“Big bro, rest assured, this place is safe. Normally, not even cats or dogs come here, let alone people…”
