Chapter 142: 142: Instantly Turned into Starry Eyes

Descending the stairs, she sought direction towards the restaurant.

“Miss Qin, Mr. Jie is waiting for you inside.” Yao, waiting at the entrance of the dining room, respectfully reminded Qin Youxuan as she descended.

He didn’t seem surprised by her flushed face at all.

“…Thank you.” Qin Youxuan paused for a moment before speaking.

Catching Yao’s bewildered expression, she quickly explained, “I’m referring to when you all helped me out earlier.”

Yao is usually never far from Dan Hanjie. He must have been there when they rescued her, right?

After all, it doesn’t hurt to thank someone extra, she certainly won’t lose a piece of herself over it.

“You’re welcome, please go in, Miss Qin.” Yao answered in an unfazed manner, gesturing toward Qin Youxuan.

“Alright.” Qin Youxuan took a deep breath before she stepped towards the dining room.

Seeing her with a determined face, even the typically indifferent Yao couldn’t help but show a slight smile.

“Sit here.” Dan Hanjie glanced at Qin Youxuan, who seemed ready to retreat into a corner, furrowed his brows, and pointed at the spot next to him.

“No need, I think this spot is great. Perfect for eating.” Without a second word, Qin Youxuan pulled out the chair farthest away from him and sat down.

Lifting her head to the servant waiting on the side, she made a smacking sound with her mouth, “Can we start the meal now?”

Hearing her words, all the servants immediately looked towards Dan Hanjie. Seeing him silent, they all remained still.

“Gurgle…”

Qin Youxuan blinked her eyes and looked towards Dan Hanjie, not having a chance to speak before her stomach began protesting.

Seeing the maids holding back their laughter, her face turned even redder.

“Serve the dishes.” Dan Hanjie caught her eye and faintly opened his thin lips.

As soon as his words fell, the previously motionless servants sprang into action.

Their movements were as if the emperor himself was about to dine.

“This is really delicious!” Qin Youxuan was genuinely starving. She took a bite of meat and, even before tasting it, she complimented it.

“Miss Qin, this is lamb chop. It is simmered first, then lightly boiled in oil…” The chef standing by her side immediately explained upon hearing her praise.

Before he could finish his words, Qin Youxuan pointed to a dish she had just tasted, “This one is awesome too!”

“This is steamed pork with rice flour. It is primarily made of…”

“And this one. Oh, this one tastes even better. It’s sweet but not greasy. I love it!” Excitedly, Qin Youxuan picked up another piece of sweet and sour pork rib, stuffing it into her mouth while praising the dish.

With each new dish, she cheerfully gave a thumbs up before moving on to the next.

Her speed was so fast it was closer to a ravenous gopher, so much so that the chef didn’t have time to introduce all the dishes and anxiously glanced at Dan Hanjie.

“Everyone, you may leave. This month, everyone’s bonus will be doubled.” After inspecting the table full of dishes, and then glancing at Qin Youxuan, who was gorging on the food, Dan Hanjie waved at the chef.

“…Yes.” Upon hearing this, the chef and the servants were pleasantly surprised. They paused for a moment before bowing respectfully and exiting the room.

“Is it good?”

“It’s delicious! So delicious! Your chef is amazing, they have the standards of a five-star chef!”

Qin Youxuan didn’t notice what Dan Hanjie had just said. Her eyes twinkled like stars. Without even looking up, she responded excitedly, and quickly began on the next dish.

It didn’t take long for her little stomach to be filled. Looking at the still more than half-filled table, she sighed silently, “I pray that heaven would grant me another stomach!”
