365-Day Trial Marriage With Hunk: Wife's A Little Wild

Chapter 308: You Better Not Even Think About It

Dan Hanjie didn’t speak, only stared at her silently, almost as if he was trying to peer into the depths of her mind and understand what she was thinking.

Feeling uncomfortable under his scrutiny, Qin Youxuan turned around, intending to walk away.

She didn’t even understand what was happening to her.

If Dan Hanjie hadn’t told her that their marriage had an expiration date, she might not have agreed to it at all.

They were nowhere near the point of discussing marriage. She hadn’t met his family or friends and had no idea about his past. She didn’t even know what he was thinking…

It was only when the marriage agreement was placed in front of her that she realized she had never really entered his world, she was always excluded.

She couldn’t say if she felt lost or relieved, all she knew was that her chest felt heavy, making it difficult for her to breathe.

She intentionally avoided dwelling on it, but the one-year term on the marriage agreement still pricked at her heart from time to time.

Her whole body ached.

“Regret it?”

Dan Hanjie grabbed her wrist, dragging Qin Youxuan back towards him.

His dark eyes radiated an inscrutable gloom, looking down at her.

“…No.” Qin Youxuan managed a smile, sadder than tears, “Even if I regret it, you won’t agree.”

“Right, I wouldn’t agree. So, you better not even think about it!” Dan Hanjie pulled a velvet box out of his pocket, and took out a pair of wedding rings. He slid the bride’s ring onto Qin Youxuan’s ring finger.

But he didn’t wear the groom’s ring. Instead, he closed the box and returned it to his pocket.

Qin Youxuan stared blankly at his actions, her eyes focusing on the sparkling diamond ring on her finger, squinting slightly.

A beautiful hexagonal star-burst diamond, with a simple and generous design. The ring clasp had a unique handcuff-like design. It was delicate, and also very special.

She liked the ring, disregarding everything else.

But would a ring worn by one person still be considered a wedding ring?

Qin Youxuan looked up, her gaze dwelling on his empty ring finger, she reached out, trying to remove the ring.

But her hand was stopped by him.

“Don’t take it off.”

Dan Hanjie held her close, their foreheads touching, whispering, “It’s not the time yet. Give me some time to make sure the announcement of our marriage won’t jeopardize your safety. After I’ve taken care of it, you can put my ring on me.”

How could she forget? His status was special, and even getting married might upset many people’s interests.

But what she didn’t understand was, if he couldn’t go public, why was he in such a hurry to get married?

“What is it, don’t you like the style I picked?” Dan Hanjie glanced at her, noticing that she had been staring at the ring without speaking, a flicker of insecurity passed over his eyes.

He found himself unable to discern her thoughts from her gaze.

The arm around her tightened in silence.

“I like it…”

He said he picked it…

This conveyed his feelings, how could she not like it?

But no matter how much she liked it, she could only wear it for a year.

Just like their marriage, it already had an expiration date drawn.

Qin Youxuan suppressed the loss in her eyes, looking up, “Have you had breakfast yet? I’m a bit hungry.”

“I’ll accompany you downstairs for breakfast.”

Dan Hanjie held her hand, leading Qin Youxuan out of the bedroom.

“Hold on, you go down first. I need to change my clothes.” Qin Youxuan looked down at her loose nightgown and the kiss marks that were exposed, her expression slightly embarrassed.

Shaking off Dan Hanjie’s hand, she returned to the bedroom.

After changing her clothes, she sat in front of the vanity mirror to do her hair.

As she prepared to stand up, she suddenly realized, she had forgotten to take her birth control pills.
