Chapter 360: 360: Don’t Let Her Die
The next second, his eyes darkened, “So Jin Chenye still refuses?”
“Yes, Jin Chenye refuses to communicate with any of our people. Despite our best efforts, he remains unwilling to handle this matter in the way Mr. Jie suggests.” Yao replied dutifully.
“What about Qin Mo?” Dan Hanjie’s eyes dimmed, emanating a dangerous glint.
Everyone knows why Jin Chenye would refuse.
Instead of trying to make him compromise, it might be better to change targets.
Compared to Jin Chenye, Qin Mo had an additional worry – Jiang Yu.
“I tried to make contact with Qin Mo, but it seemed like he was under surveillance. I didn’t get the chance to meet him alone.”
“Did Jin Chenye pull the strings?” asked Hanjie, propping up his body, but grimacing as this movement tugged at his wounds.
“Yes.”
“By tomorrow at the latest, if there is still no agreement from the Qin family, do as I instructed,” Hanjie’s eyes narrowed, his voice a low growl.
“I understand. I’ll arrange it immediately.” Yao respectfully bowed and turned to leave.
As he reached the door, he paused. “Mr. Jie, it’s been three days. Miss Bai likely can’t hold on much longer.”
“…”
Dan Hanjie’s bewitching eyes flashed ominously. His long fingers twitched slightly, “Have someone send her some food. Don’t let her die.”
“Yes.”
Yao nodded and left the room.
“Tsk, tsk…It seems that my cousin really caught your eye. You’re still worrying about her despite being so injured. How touching!” Jiang Jinchen, who had kept quiet all this while, finally spoke up.
With his arms crossed over his chest and eyes darting left and right, he let out a wicked laugh, glancing at Hanjie who was immobile on the bed.
“If you also want to try laying here, I won’t mind obliging you”, Hanjie’s voice was indifferent, revealing no emotion. A single look from his wicked eyes towards Jiang Jinchen was enough to send shivers down a man’s spine.
“Never mind, I’m not that masochistic.” Jiang Jinchen quickly raised his hands in surrender, stepping back to avoid any potential danger.
“I’ve come to inform you that those old men at the Jiang family found out that the information was leaked from my end. They’ve put me under house arrest for a month. I was specially released today to come and seek an explanation from you.”
Jiang Jinchen shrugged, moved to the opposite end of the sickbed and leaned against the sofa.
With a provocative lift of his slender, almond eyes, he said, “I didn’t expect the fallout from the leaks to be this severe. Now that it’s in the limelight, the Jiang family is under intense media scrutiny besides the Qin family. It’s hard to avoid any mishap with the media keeping a keen eye on us. If you’re not going to get involved, the Jiang family will start taking action.”
Jiang Jinchen spoke simply, without exaggeration, just plainly declared his stance.
For people in politics, it’s always better to keep a low profile, many ‘big tigers’ have fallen due to reckless actions.
“My woman doesn’t need the Jiang family to intervene.” Hanjie’s indifferent smile betrayed a sense of ownership, subtly albeit clearly staking his claim, thus also providing reassurance.
He would give a satisfactory explanation to the Jiang family for this incident.
As he spoke, he side-eyed the uneasy Jiang Jinchen, his gaze deep, “How about you? Do you need me to pull some strings for you?”
