Chapter 1122: Chapter 1122 Diverging Paths (2)
A bright smile on her face, Lilia vigorously nodded her head.
However, there was one person in the room that was against her going.
"Lilia, you read the reply that your master sent. She thinks that it is too dangerous for you. If you get into trouble, I won\'t be there with you this time." Marcus said, wearing a truly concerned expression.
He had certainly brought Lilia with him to a multitude of perilous places, but he was always nearby to help her if need be.
Unfortunately, he had an upcoming obligation that he could not simply blow off. It would be impossible for him to go with his sister and protect her. Should the worst happen, he had no clue what he would do.
"I know that you\'re worried, and that you always want to be around to protect me, but I can take care of myself now. Plus, I\'m sure that I can bring Aurelia and Zareen with me."
Lilia then glanced towards Boras to make sure that he was fine with her bringing along her beast companions, and he gave a nod of approval.
"Marcus, don\'t try to hold her back. She may be young, but by the standards of Borealia, she is an adult. You\'ve raised her for these last several years and done everything that you can to make sure she\'s prepared for the dangers of this world. Trust in her and what you\'ve taught her."
Listening to Mrazivý\'s words, Marcus knew that she was right.
With a deep sigh he released his pent-up worries and addressed Lilia with a smile.
"Okay, go to Ardea and do all you can to help. If there\'s anything that you need before you leave, just ask. If it\'s something I can get, I will. Just make sure that you don\'t die. That\'s the only rule I\'m giving you."
"Thank you. I promise to come back. It will take more than few demons and cultists to put so much as a scratch on me." Lilia said with an air of confidence.
She then rushed over and gave Marcus a huge hug before heading over to Boreas\' side.
However, while he did give his permission, Marcus could not help but be a little overprotective.
"Roxene, Blitz, Inten, I want you to go with them as well."
Everyone was taken by surprise by this order from Marcus, but neither Boreas nor anyone else going with him protested. Another three high level mythic grade beasts were quite the additional force.
Yet, while Blitz and Inten agreed, Roxene refused.
"No, I will be staying with you. You\'re my caretaker and I won\'t be going off to treacherous parts unknown without you."
Marcus looked astonished to hear Roxene\'s blatant refusal. She had separated from him plenty of times before of her own volition. But she had immediately denied his request for her to accompany Lilia.
He tried reasoning with her, but she was adamant.
"Weren\'t you already just going to be staying here? I believe I already told everyone that I\'m going to deal with my debt to the Draayer Vampires alone."
"Yes, you did. And I never once accepted that moronic decision. I will be coming along with you. Who knows what sort of trouble you will end up in without me." Continue your saga on m|v-l\'e -NovelBin.net
The two of them argued for several minutes, but in the end, Marcus lost.
Roxene had said that even if he tried to leave her behind, she would simply follow him.
"If I recall your main concern anyway was that in case a hasty retreat was needed, that no one else could use your Dark Portals. However, I am more than capable. There should be no problem with my accompanying you." Roxene said, bringing their disagreement to a decisive conclusion.
After that the meeting was pretty much over.
Everyone began to go their own ways, with those soon to be accompanying Boreas leaving with him to iron out some more details.
Marcus left only with Mrazivý. Roxene was going to go back to Marcus\' estate and wait for him to return, while the married couple enjoyed some time together alone.
"So, what did you talk about with Boreas?" Marcus asked as they walked back to their room within the castle.
"Hehe, I\'m afraid that is a secret. You\'ll find out and be amazed when you get back from your little foray into the Darklands." Mrazivý replied with a mischievous smile.
Once they finally make it back to their private room, Marcus sat Mrazivý down and told her about the added bit at the end of the Administrator\'s recent message to him.
"So, we can actually have a child now. I\'m not sure if I should feel excited or worried." Mrazivý said, her face showing multiple conflicting emotions.
There was no doubt that she wanted to have a child with Marcus now that it was possible. It was just that the current timing was not ideal.
It would be practically impossible for her to fight if she got pregnant, and with the looming danger of demons and cultists on the horizon, she needed to be ready for a crisis at any moment.
"Well, it is not something we really need to worry about. The chances of success are apparently infinitesimal. Of course, if you ever want to give it a try, I\'m always ready. Though we do have a very long time left, so there\'s no hurry. I mean, Boreas and Gwyneira are both several centuries old and they just had another kid."
"You\'re right. It\'s just, Ughhh! I really do want to have a kid with you. If only it wasn\'t such an inopportune time. I suppose we will just have to wait." Mrazivý said with a huff.
Watching his wife grumble so cutely caused Marcus to chuckle slightly.
He then swept her up in his arms and began carrying her to the bedroom.
"Even if we aren\'t going to try and start a family right now, that doesn\'t mean we can\'t have some fun. Very soon we\'re going to be apart for who knows how long. So, let\'s enjoy our time together while we can."
"You\'re certainly being more assertive than usual today. I can\'t say I dislike it though."
Wrapping her arms around Marcus\' neck, Mrazivý pulled herself up and gave him a kiss. This served as the start of their passionate night together.
