Chapter 645: 374: Taming_1
Feng Qing’an thought for a while and remembered what the so-called Qiong Yu tribe was.
They were also a subgroup within the Heterogeneous Clan, but compared to the well-known Merfolk that even commoners were aware of, the Qiong Yu tribe was relatively unknown.
Their rarity was due to their small population. However, their scarcity did not hinder their high reputation in the realm of cultivation. Each individual had significant prowess, making them an essential part of the Heterogeneous Clan.
Nevertheless, being an offshoot of the Heterogeneous Clan that originated from the creation of the world did not change the dwindling position of the clan. They were too few in number and found it extremely difficult to sustain their heritage.
What surprised Feng Qing’an slightly was the presence of the Qiong Yu tribe in such a place. Had the Merfolk Queen told him there was a real Dragon Palace nearby home to true dragons, he would have been less surprised.
But what really surprised Feng Qing’an were the words of the Merfolk Queen. Did she mean to betray her trusted companion?
Even though they had established a Soul Contract and she had submitted to his authority – which could be considered a supreme opportunity and a shared blessing -, it was clear from the Merfolk Queen’s intent that shared adversity was also part of the deal.
However, the relationship between the Merfolk Queen and her close friend from the Qiong Yu tribe didn’t fall within Feng Qing’an’s concerns. He was merely curious about the Qiong Yu who were capable of interacting with Human Immortals.
“Interesting. Where is this friend of yours located?”
“She is to the southeast, three thousand six hundred miles away, within a floating city suspended among the clouds.”
The Merfolk Queen, who had established a Soul Contract with Feng Qing’an and entered a subordinate relationship, answered without hesitation.
Now that she had joined the ranks of this young man, as a seemingly Heavenly Immortal, she was ready to share any blessings with her friend, and if this turned out to be a disaster, they would bear it together, so at least neither would be alone.
“Good!”
Feng Qing’an nodded, not showing any doubt, mostly because he hadn’t seen anything to doubt. Besides, he didn’t sense any ill-intention from the Merfolk Queen towards him through the Soul Contract. She did seem to harbor some unkind thoughts towards her friend, but he wasn’t bothered as long as those thoughts weren’t aimed at him.
“You have three days to gather your loyal subjects here. I will take you and them away. After three days, regardless of any omissions, I will not be responsible.”
Feng Qing’an didn’t plan to play nursemaid to the Merfolk. The time limit he provided was arbitrary. He could wait longer if he wanted, but there was no need. Those who wanted to come would find a way; those who didn’t might as well stay here and face the wrath of the marine species they had previously harmed.
“Yes.”
Even though the deadline set by Feng Qing’an was quite strict and pressuring, the Merfolk Queen knew she had no grounds to negotiate.
Besides, she had no intention of taking all of her tribemates along. She only wanted to bring her loyal followers who could enjoy the benefits within the Cave Sky. As for the rest, if they were willing to come, they would have the privilege to follow her and take advantage of this opportunity she acquired by sacrificing all her dignity.
“Hmm!”
Seeing that the Merfolk Queen had no other objections, Feng Qing’an waved his hand,
“You can go and arrange everything!”
After sending off the Merfolk Queen, Feng Qing’an turned his attention to the Kun Group that had swum to his side, looking at him with longing. They had completed the task he’d set, and now it was time to receive their rewards.
At such a time, Feng Qing’an wasn’t stingy. Soon, he would need the Kun Group when the Merfolk Queen would lead him to the Qiong Yu who resided in the clouds. They would serve as deterrents.
He couldn’t just flaunt the Cave Sky every time he encountered people and let their imaginations run wild, making them kneel in submission. Once or twice would be fine.
But if he did it too often, his status would considerably diminish in people’s eyes, possibly becoming a laughingstock. Of course, only Heavenly Immortals would have the privilege to ridicule him. Those below the Heavenly Immortal would only be envious, while those above wouldn’t even spare him a glance.
“Supreme One!”
The voice of Da Kun below him erupted enough energy to shake the deepest seabed. The resounding voice covered thousands of miles, but aside from Feng Qing’an, no one could understand the meaning behind it. They could only feel the immense terror it emitted.
“We have fulfilled your request. Can we now earn the privilege to follow you?”
Listening to Da Kun’s careful query, Feng Qing’an smiled. The old Kun liked to maintain its dignity and spoke subtly.
The unspoken question here was whether they, like the young ones in their group, could let their bloodline evolve and receive the inheritance of Kunpeng.
“Of course you can. Over the next three days, you’ll see.”
He obviously had to reward those who had worked. If they were only given tasks without any rewards, they might indeed turn against him.
Feng Qing’an naturally understood this simple truth. Mere flattery wouldn’t work.
If he wanted these ancient Kuns to serve him, he needed to provide concrete benefits and a promising future.
