Hidden identities of the AI Heiress

Chapter 52 - 52 What do you want to do?

Li Hanzhou reminded her, “I’m only six years older than you.”

“I know.”

Qiao Yun lifted her face, her fair complexion appearing even whiter under the sun, as she looked at Li Hanzhou with a puzzled expression.

“You don’t want to be my friend, nor do you want to be my grandfather, what do you want to be?”

“Of course I…” Li Hanzhou’s eyes reflected Qiao Yun’s obedient and quiet demeanor. The words he was about to say suddenly caught in his throat; he seemed unsure where he wanted to place Qiao Yun.

“Where are you heading?” Li Hanzhou decisively changed the subject.

Without hearing an answer, Qiao Yun didn’t mind and told him, “Back to the Lu Family.”

“Shall I give you a lift?” Li Hanzhou noticed that she said Lu Family instead of home. The kid didn’t seem to know what she was thinking about all day.

“Sure.” Qiao Yun waved her hand where Li Hanzhou couldn’t see.

A taxi not too far away, in the next second, headed off in another direction.

Li Hanzhou usually had a driver when he went out, but today he was driving himself. Sitting in the driver’s seat, he glanced over at Qiao Yun, who was earnestly fastening her seatbelt.

He suddenly realized that no matter what Qiao Yun did or said, she always did it with great earnestness; he couldn’t tell whether she was telling the truth or lying.

Once the car started, Li Hanzhou asked her, “What are you doing here?”

Qiao Yun’s voice was soft and sweet, “Visiting a friend.”

Li Hanzhou said teasingly, “You and Pei Ya are friends?”

Qiao Yun turned her head to look at Li Hanzhou and honestly hummed in affirmation.

Li Hanzhou tapped his fingertips on the steering wheel, smiling yet not smiling, “Met at the party? You’ve just met, and you’re already this close that you came to hang out with him?”

Qiao Yun vaguely murmured an acknowledgment.

Li Hanzhou merely smiled, not speaking further. He found Qiao Yun quite an enigma: her manner clearly showed she was well-educated, but her actions were too naive and uninformed.

“You’re so eager to make friends?” Li Hanzhou asked her.

Qiao Yun nodded, “Yes, grandfather told me to make friends.”

Keeping a straight face, Li Hanzhou half-jokingly said, “Not everyone is suitable to be a friend. Some people might have an agenda and approach you under the guise of friendship.”

Qiao Yun lazily let her long eyelashes hang low, uninterestedly uttering a sound of acknowledgment.

Seeing her tired appearance, Li Hanzhou raised the half-open car window and continued, “Ever heard of a three-year generation gap? You should look for people of your own age to be friends with. Pei Ya is too old for you.”

Qiao Yun paused for a moment, then realized, “I understand, so we are not suitable to be friends either. We have a two-generation gap.”

Li Hanzhou paused slightly, defensively saying, “I’m different.”

Qiao Yun looked at him, her eyes filled with suspicion.

Li Hanzhou said earnestly, “I look younger.”

“…”

Qiao Yun thought to herself, so this is the legendary shamelessness.

An hour later, the car arrived at the destination.

After getting out of the car, Qiao Yun bent down slightly and emphasized to Li Hanzhou again, “I will repay the favor I owe you. If you need help with anything, I’ll help you, but only once.”

Li Hanzhou was amused by her seriousness; what could he possibly need Qiao Yun’s help with?

If he really needed help, that would make him quite useless.

His handsome features, in Qiao Yun’s eyes, made him seem like a sprite when he smiled.

Seeing Qiao Yun staring at him, Li Hanzhou didn’t mind and nodded, “Alright.”

Qiao Yun felt relieved, waved her hand to him, signaling goodbye.

After Li Hanzhou returned home, he received a dossier – it was about Qiao Yun.

He opened the dossier and read it from beginning to end, his expression growing increasingly somber.
