Skill Forge: Broken Extra Character

Chapter 76 Gotcha Eggs

Jett couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. He had been eagerly anticipating the moment when his egg would crack open, but for reasons unknown, its due date had been inexplicably extended.

Watching his peers revel in the unveiling of their new companions only deepened his frustration. It was almost as if fate itself had conspired against him.

As his friends paraded their newfound pets in front of him, the scene felt like a cruel mockery.

Aiden showed off his sleek, magical tiger with an air of smugness, while Freya's radiant Phoenix fluttered about, leaving a trail of warm, healing light. Even Marcella couldn't resist flaunting her Elixir Slime.

Each display was a stab at Jett's already wounded pride, further amplified by their playful taunts and exaggerated boasts.

To Jett's dismay, he wasn't the only one left out. In fact, the lack of pets was a common plight among first-year students, with only a few upperclassmen managing to secure one.

Pets were rare and coveted, their acquisition akin to winning a lottery.

The eggs, much like a gacha system, were shrouded in unpredictability. They came with high costs and even higher expectations.

The rarity and quality of the monsters inside were directly tied to the tier of the egg, with the more expensive ones potentially yielding extraordinary results.

However, this also meant a reduced chance of receiving anything of value. The hunt for these eggs was a blend of fortune and fortune-seeking, requiring both exceptional luck and deep pockets to secure even a single egg.

The mystique surrounding the eggs only added to their allure. No one truly knew how or where these eggs were made.

They appeared randomly in various locations, and only a select few individuals possessed the skill and knowledge to locate them.

As a result, the eggs remained a rare and elusive commodity, with their origins and distribution wrapped in a veil of mystery.

The Royal treasury housed fourteen beasts ranging from rare to epic to even Legendary, a testament to the kingdom's immense wealth and power.

Remarkably, on this day, the Divine Lords obtained one of these extraordinary creatures, forming a unique bond with their new companions. Given this special connection, the academy made an exception, allowing the students to keep their pets with them in the dorms.

Asher received a Wraith Bat. At first glance, it appeared as a normal bat, but its eyes and wings emitted a faint, eerie purple glow. This spectral creature could fly silently, blend seamlessly into shadows, create illusions, and had a paralyzing touch and poisonous bite. It could also envelop Asher in shadow, enhancing his stealth and using sonar abilities for detection and movement.

Matthew got an Ironback Bear. This massive bear was covered in nearly impenetrable skin, making it ideal for taking hits and shielding its master. It could also enhance Matthew's healing speed, making it both a formidable protector and a loyal companion.

Morrigan received an Aether Spirit. This sprite of pure energy channeled various elemental powers, offering versatility in magic. It could manipulate fire, water, cold, and frost, providing offensive support and adding significant versatility to Morrigan's magical abilities.

Aiden was gifted a Mystic Tiger. This powerful, magical tiger possessed enhanced agility and strength, capable of channeling magic through its strikes. Its presence added both might and mystical power to Aiden's arsenal.

Elora got a Death Wolf. This wolf had a menacing crimson glow and dark magic. Its magic-infused eyes could track enemies and cast supportive spells, enhancing Elora's combat and tracking abilities.

Rosa received a Verdant Nymph. This sprite of lush greenery looked strikingly similar to Rosa herself. The Verdant Nymph controlled flower and plant growth, created barriers of vines and thorns, and crafted illusions of blooming flora, providing both defensive and deceptive capabilities.

Cedric obtained a Forge Turtle. This turtle's shell resembled molten metal and had the ability to breathe fire. It could manipulate materials, assist in refining and crafting equipment, and provide robust defense.

Seraphina was given a Sylvan Faerie. This sprite embodied the essence of the forest, aiding in nature-based attacks and facilitating communication with animals, making it a versatile ally in natural environments.

Freya got a Lumina Phoenix. This majestic phoenix had luminous wings and a radiant aura. It provided offense, sacred protection, and healing through its holy flames, making it a powerful and supportive companion.

Marcella received an Elixir Slime. This tiny, glowing slime could create various potions and healing elixirs by ingesting ingredients. It could heal by swallowing its patient, making it a crucial asset for any situation requiring recovery.

Evelina was bestowed with an Archer Faerie. This tiny sprite enchanted arrows, boosted reflexes and movement speed, aided in camouflage and tracking, and enhanced vision and evasion, making it a valuable support for precision and agility.

Finn got a Fortune Sprite. This sprite drew in wealth and luck, significantly enhancing Finn's chances of finding valuable loot and treasures, making it a lucky charm for any fortune-seeker.

Rey received a Master Dragon. This fierce dragon had a heroic aura, second only to primordial dragons. It could breathe two kinds of flame: Pure and Holy flames, offering both might and protective abilities, making it a legendary companion for any challenge.

The newly hatched beasts were all small and endearing, their diminutive size making them irresistibly cute.

Each pet, though still in its infancy, was a source of joy and fascination for their young masters. They flitted, waddled, or scurried close to their sides, forming a heartwarming scene of camaraderie.

Despite their small size, the presence of these creatures had a profound effect on the other students. Many of the upperclassmen, who had previously felt secure in their positions, now looked on with growing apprehension.

The fear of being overshadowed or losing their ranks intensified as they witnessed the extraordinary abilities and potential of these newborn pets. The display of power and uniqueness from such young creatures made their own companions seem almost inadequate by comparison.

Jett sighed deeply as he observed the scene. He knew there was nothing he could do but wait.

He had two more weeks before his egg was expected to hatch.

With the impressive array of creatures already revealed, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of pet he would receive but since he used a dragon scale it was now a matter of what specie he would get, especially given that Rey had acquired such a top-tier species.

However, Jett's thoughts were quickly pulled back to more pressing matters. "Sadly, I've got something important to do. I need to find a way to free Mystra from her chains.

Only on m v|le|mp|yr

Not to mention finding out why I got that message on the system," he murmured, his gaze turning towards Clarence's office.
