Chapter 91 Trial 3 IV
With time ticking down, the pressure mounted, but the teams were determined to give it everything they had left. Rey and Matthew exchanged a determined nod, signaling their readiness for the final push.
[Falling Meteor]
Massive rocks, blazing with fiery energy, plummeted from the sky, crashing into the remaining hordes of monsters. The ground trembled as the meteors obliterated everything in their path, creating a devastating shockwave that rippled across the battlefield.
{Hell Fire}
Rey unleashed his most powerful spell, the inferno searing through the ranks of the undead. The combined heat from their holy and dark flames turned the battlefield into a blazing hellscape, incinerating the undead into ashes.
{Purification}
Freya once again casted a spell which resulted in chains of pure light vaporizing any remaining undead and cleansing the ground they had desecrated.
[Time Remaining: 02:20]

[Trial Completion 3/14]
As the last of the enemies disintegrated into nothingness, a wave of relief washed over the entire team. The trial was finally over. The battlefield, once swarming with terrifying creatures, now lay still and silent, the only remnants being the scattered ashes of their fallen foes.
Everyone collapsed to the ground, exhausted but victorious. Jett, however, wasn't tired: though he made sure not to show it. He stood off to the side, pretending to catch his breath along with the others, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

As they began to catch their breath, a new notification popped up for everyone.
[Rewards]
[Level up x2]
[x11,000 Low-Tier Monster Core]
[x8,000 Mid-Tier Monster Core]
[x1,000 High-Tier Monster Core]
Each member of the team received the same reward for completing the trial, the notification ringing out simultaneously.
[Title: Undead Slayer]
Rey and Freya, however, received an additional notification.
[Title: Saint against the Undead]
[You have defeated 100,000 undead. The Undead Slayer title has evolved. The goddess smiles upon your achievements. All aggro effects from the undead slayer have been negated.]
[The undead shall fear you.]
[x5 EXP from the undead]
[30% agility and strength reduction for all undead within 20m.]
Freya blinked in surprise as her screen continued to flash. A special notification appeared, evolving her newly acquired title even further.
Jett noticed the notification and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued as he could see Freya's screen without needing her permission.
'What kind of cheat title is that?' he thought, bemused by her newfound power. But he quickly dismissed the thought with a shrug. 'It doesn't really matter anyway.'
As the team slowly got back on their feet, there was a shared sense of accomplishment and newfound strength. They had faced overwhelming odds and emerged victorious, stronger than ever before.
After taking some time to catch their breath, it was finally time to address the burning questions everyone had been holding in. The group gathered around, still buzzing with curiosity, eager to unravel the mysteries behind the trial they had just survived.
The first question on everyone's mind was how Jett and Finn had suddenly become magnets for the undead, and most importantly, how Freya had managed to use both an attack skill and spell.
"Well, it's all thanks to Jett, I guess," Freya began, glancing at him with a grateful smile. "He helped me discover a hidden power I didn't even know I had."
Everyone leaned in as Freya continued to explain. She recounted how Jett had taken her to a dark attribute dungeon, a place filled with malevolent energy.
It was there that she had discovered something extraordinary: her ability to convert any spell or skill into an attack, as long as her target used the dark attribute, was a demon, or, as she had just learned today, was undead.
"I didn't know it also worked for the undead until now, though," Freya added, her eyes lighting up with excitement.
"So, like, you can use different attack spells now?" Morrigan asked, her curiosity piqued.
Freya shook her head, her expression shifting to a mixture of excitement and frustration. "Not really," she sighed. "The attack you saw me use earlier seems to be the only one I can activate, and it only works on those three types of enemies: dark attribute users, demons, and now apparently undead."
"Well, that's better than nothing," Asher chimed in, trying to reassure her. "You've got something unique and powerful, even if it's limited."
The group shared in Freya's excitement, congratulating her on her newfound ability. The atmosphere was light and filled with relief after the intense battle.
But just as they were beginning to relax, Evelina's voice cut through the chatter, bringing everyone back to reality. "So we're all going to ignore the fact that all those undead gave everyone else the side eye, paying no attention to us, but somehow mindlessly rushed toward Finn and Jett?"
The sudden shift in focus made everyone pause. The earlier curiosity returned, this time directed at Jett and Finn. All eyes were on the duo now, waiting for an explanation.
"I'd also like to know how that happened," Elora chimed in, her voice tinged with curiosity.
"It was so weird, and they both seemed to know that something like that was going to happen," Cedric added, deep in thought as he tried to piece it all together.
Rey, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up, drawing everyone's attention. "I think I know how," he said, his voice carrying a note of certainty. "After getting that Undead Slayer title, I can boldly say that you two already had the title before now. Probably before we even entered the academy, and I have a good guess as to when and where. You know that right?"
The room fell silent as everyone turned their full attention to Rey, eager to hear his theory. The suspense was palpable, and even those who had been less concerned about the oddities were now invested in finding out what Rey had deduced.
"Alright, yes, we cleared the Cursed Shop quest and obtained the title in the process," Jett finally admitted, his tone nonchalant as if it were no big deal.
"So it really was you guys. I really wanted to take on that quest," Rey whined, a hint of frustration in his voice.
Jett sighed inwardly, not feeling the slightest bit of remorse. 'And if I'd left you, Finn would never have gotten the Midas Spear,' he thought, keeping his expression as stoic as ever.
Just as the group began to process this new information, the environment around them suddenly shifted. They were immediately transported back to the starting point of the trial. A new notification popped up in front of them:
[Would you like to Continue? Y/N]
[Trial Completion: 3/14]
The message hovered in the air, glowing ominously. The exhaustion from the intense battle began to weigh heavily on everyone. They were drained, both physically and mentally, with little desire to push forward.
Without much hesitation, they each took out their teleportation scrolls, the decision unanimous. One by one, they activated the scrolls, disappearing from the trial grounds and returning to the safety of the academy.
As Jett followed suit, a nagging thought lingered in his mind. The trial had been grueling, and the rewards substantial, but something about the entire experience felt off.
He couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it than what they had been told. Was what Alok said the actual truth, or was there something deeper, something hidden?
As the teleportation scroll activated, whisking him away, Jett couldn't help but wonder what the real purpose of the trial was, and what it might mean for the future.
Jett knew his questions would be answered in due time, but the uncertainty gnawed at him. How long would it take for the truth to surface? How many more trials, battles, and mysteries would they have to face before everything made sense?

A week passed in the blink of an eye, with Jett barely getting a moment's rest. He was fast asleep, finally finding some respite from the relentless pace of academy life.
But his dreams were restless, filled with thoughts of the past week's events and the increasing demands of Clarence.
The random assignments Clarence had been giving him without warning were becoming too much to handle. Each task seemed more bizarre and difficult than the last, and the constant unpredictability left him on edge.
"Jett… Wake up…" a voice called out, soft yet insistent.
He stirred, trying to pull himself out of sleep, but something heavy was pressing down on him, making such a simple task nearly impossible.
A wave of annoyance washed over him, wondering if someone was trying to prank him in his sleep. What was going on? He strained to move, but the weight wouldn't budge.
"What the… Freya! What the hell is this?" Jett screamed out in shock, his eyes flying open.
What he saw was entirely unexpected and couldn't be explained.
