Chapter 651: 208. Wow~ Little Gold Vault_3

[Memory Fragment Three: “Bower Steals Family Funds,” Completeness 5%]

[Memory Fragment Four:…]

(Several memory fragments omitted.)

Noland Lee opened the second memory fragment and immediately cried out “my eyes!”, then quickly closed the fragment and tossed it aside.

Noland calmed himself and scanned the memory fragments he had obtained, confirming that only the first and third fragments were worth his attention.

He opened and played both memory fragments.

The first fragment showed a study with the doors and windows closed tightly. The furniture in the room was made of dark solid wood material, giving off a very oppressive feeling.

Housekeeper Bowles sat facing his master, Yorksim, on either side of the desk, with documents covering the table between the two.

In the memory image, Yorksim had a roll of cigarettes in his mouth, slicked-back hair, and a high nose bridge.

He was checking the expenses on the bill and asking Bowles about the specific purpose and destination of each expense.

This memory fragment seemed dull and boring, with only question and answer between the master and servant. However, it was quite enjoyable to watch when combined with the third memory fragment!

In the third memory fragment, Housekeeper Bowles used various methods to steal his master Yorksim’s funds under the guise of purchasing materials, reimbursing expenses, and maintaining the manor, and set up his own vault.

Bowles’ financial skills were excellent, far beyond those of his master Yorksim.

About half a year ago, Yorksim began to vaguely suspect that there was a problem with his funds, but he had been unable to pinpoint the anomaly.

Others would instinctively think that no matter how big the gap in financial skills, Yorksim only needed to take the bills and Bowles’ statements, and compare them with the Witch Spirit Pavilion’s records of his funds. That should expose Bowles’ actions.

However, in reality, Bowles remained undetected.

Why was that?

With this question in mind, Noland read the memory fragments.

Unfortunately, the completeness of the third memory fragment was limited and did not show the whole process of Bowles’ financial skills.

Noland didn’t know much about financial matters, but that didn’t stop him from spending some more Energy Points to launch Deconstruction on Bowles.

[System Message:]

[You have consumed about 60,000 Energy Points to deconstruct the target.]

[Your deconstruction completion on “Housekeeper Bowles” has reached 100%]

[In this deconstruction, you have obtained the following results:]

[1. “Bower Steals Family Funds,” Completeness increased to 100%]

[2. “Bower’s Vault Details,” Completeness 100%]

[3. “Bower’s Secret Lover,” Completeness 100%]

[4. “Bower Enjoys the Training of a Strong Maid,” Completeness increased to 100%]

[5. “Bower’s Illegitimate Child,” Completeness 100%]

“Ha…” Facing the deconstruction results in his mind, Noland chuckled secretly:

“I actually stripped Bowles down to his underwear, Deconstruction really is domineering.”

Noland opened and quickly read through all the memory fragments except for the fourth one.

“Oh~ So Yorksim’s Magic Currency Studies and financial knowledge were taught by Bowles. No wonder Yorksim, as the principal, has power but can’t catch Bowles.”

Noland figured out the cause and continued reading the memory fragments.

When he saw the scene of “Bowles entering the vault password” in the memory fragment, a faint glimmer of light flashed in the depths of Noland’s eyes!

After taking a closer look at the exact location of Bowles’ vault, Noland raised his eyebrows.

This trip tonight would be a big win!

The man’s “vault” was not an anonymous bank account opened with Witch Spirit Pavilion, but a genuine vault made of magic metal.

This vault was placed on the east side of the Suman Archipelago, on Island #110982.

The vault was hidden by Bowles deep within a cave on the southeastern corner of the island.

“I’ve already found the exact location of the vault in the memory fragments, as well as the general state of the gold coins inside. The total gold coins amount to a staggering 6 million. Pulling off this heist is equivalent to ten weeks of my income. There’s no reason for me to pass up this opportunity.”

Noland Lee’s eyes flicker in contemplation:

“Even if I take all 6 million gold coins, Bowles wouldn’t dare announce it to the world, because the origins of these coins are illegitimate – they’ve all been stolen from his master, Yorksim. In that case, I’ll definitely go for this heist. Let me see… how I should enter the cave and open the vault…”

Noland temporarily puts aside the idea of admiring Bowles’ financial expertise.

He sweeps all other memory fragments aside, leaving only the “Bower Vault Details” memory fragment on a loop in his mind.

From the memory fragment, there are five layers of security measures inside and outside the vault.

The outermost security measure is provided by the Deep Sea Branch’s security service.

The magic outposts will patrol the island hourly, with their path taking them back and forth above the island.

Noland can use Sense Tampering to mask himself from the vision of the Magic Outposts.

The second layer of security is the magical traps on the island, concentrated near the cave where the vault is.

For Noland, this is not too difficult.

Since Deconstruction can obtain panel information about magical traps and subsequently find a way to disarm them.

The third layer of security is the magic puppets inside the cave.

These things possess the logic of movement, the ability to identify friend and foe, as well as alert the Deep Sea Branch’s Magic Outpost with a sharp noise.

What’s more troublesome is that Bowles placed about 30 magic puppets in the cave, with a vertical depth not exceeding 100 meters.

Basically, every 20 meters Noland travels, he will encounter one.

What’s even more troublesome is that these magic puppets are all of the “Rock Puppet” variety in the rock and soil series. These

magic puppets, in a non-combat state, will shrink inside wall structures like ordinary stones.

Noland’s Deconstruction Technique can only discern targets through “seeing” and “touching.”

As for the Rock Puppets hidden within wall structures, Noland cannot see or touch them, and thus he cannot deconstruct them.

Browsing further into the memory fragment, Noland realizes that the challenges he faces are not just the Rock Puppets hidden within walls.

The magic metal-made vault itself also contains some magical abilities.

It is a magical creation made of metal called ‘Metallic Defender.’

The place where gold coins are stored is its chest cavity.

Upon sensing an intruder coming close, the metallic defender will transform from a square magic vault into a magic-guard with arms and legs, holding a magic shield and magic ax-gun.

This is Bowles’ fourth line of protection for his vault.

The fifth line of defense is relatively simple: a vault door comprised of mechanical locks, magic locks, and password locks.

Noland has already obtained the unlocking method for these three types of locks through the memory fragment.

In total, there are only three obstacles he has to face:

The magical traps near the cave, the Rock Puppets inside the cave, and the Metallic Defender acting as the vault.

Once these three obstacles are removed, the huge sum of 6 million gold coins will be within reach.

With the 6 million gold coins in hand, Noland only needs to take a sixth of it to buy all the authentic items in Hudson’s shop.

By passively deconstructing these authentic items, he can gain at least 1 million Energy Points.

If he happens to encounter more housekeepers with vaults, he can use these 1 million points to deconstruct them, obtain details about their vaults, get more gold coins, and then use the gold coins to buy more authentic items, exchanging them for Energy Points through passive deconstruction…

This series of operations, like a snowball, cannot be stopped easily.

“This is what the God of Stocks called ‘snowball effect’, love it and cherish it~” Noland chuckled to himself, maintaining a calm demeanor on the surface.

“It seems that my plan to deconstruct important figures at the banquet, obtain hidden important information, and subsequently acquire wealth is viable.”

While overjoyed, Noland does not lose his vigilance:

“There’s one thing I need to pay extra attention to. I must leave a significant gap of time between my attendance at the banquet and the heist to dilute the connection between the two events. This approach may delay my acquisition of the wealth inside the vault, but it’ll also effectively prevent others from linking my attendance at the banquet to the vault theft. I have to be cautious enough when it comes to plundering the housekeepers’ vault.”
