The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 207 - 207 Trouble Again

“Could someone be inviting me to dinner?” Yang Qingyin hung up the phone and Luo Ziling asked quietly.

Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes at Luo Ziling but didn’t answer his question.

“Is your mom inviting me to have dinner at your place?” Luo Ziling, not giving up, asked again.

“I know you don’t want to.”

“You got me,” seeing Yang Qingyin wasn’t showing the expected shyness and joy when she said this, Luo Ziling quickly changed his tone.

Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes at Luo Ziling and didn’t say anything more on the subject, but took the initiative to grab Luo Ziling’s hand.

The two continued taking shortcuts to avoid pedestrians on their way to the restaurant.

Yang Qingyin had chosen a seafood restaurant a bit far from the school for their dinner spot.

“Taking me for seafood again?” Luo Ziling joked with a smile upon arriving at the restaurant, “Are you trying to make up for the twenty years of seafood feasts I’ve missed out on?”

“You guessed right,” Yang Qingyin said with a radiant smile, “You like it, so we’ll eat it more often. This seafood restaurant has a good reputation, it’s just a bit far.”

“I don’t mind the distance at all,” Luo Ziling’s smile was even more brilliant, “as long as you’re treating me, no matter how far, I’ll come, even to the ends of the earth.”

Yang Qingyin said playfully, “I’ll remember that. When you go back to the Northwest one day, and I invite you out, let’s see how you’ll rush over.”

“I’ll grow wings and fly over.”

The two of them, chatting and laughing, entered the seafood restaurant. Yang Qingyin had booked a private room in advance, and they followed the waiter directly into the reserved room.

Last time Yang Qingyin treated him to a meal in a large private room; Luo Ziling thought it was too extravagant. Today, respecting his wishes, she didn’t book a large room but a small private room that could seat four.

Because the restaurant was bustling with many patrons, it took a while for the dishes to arrive, but neither of them minded, casually chatting after ordering.

“I’m going to use the restroom,” after chatting and laughing for a while, Luo Ziling stood up apologetically, asking Yang Qingyin to wait for him as he went to the restroom.

Yang Qingyin smiled.

The restroom was to the right side of their room, a bit far away. As Luo Ziling walked down the corridor, he came face to face with a group of people approaching. With his sharp eyes, he immediately recognized them and was taken aback.

It was Mr. Ling and his friends whom he had encountered at Lin Lin’s aunt’s opening reception.

Mr. Ling and his friends also spotted Luo Ziling at the first moment.

All eyes were focused on Luo Ziling, who slowed down his pace.

“Yo, isn’t this the guy who hit us that day?” Qin Ming, who had been bullied by Luo Ziling and Cao Jianhui, immediately stepped forward with a sinister tone, “What a small world to bump into you here again. You hit our people that day and lost face for Mr. Ling, don’t you think it’s very inappropriate not to apologize?”

“Move aside,” Luo Ziling said coldly to Qin Ming, “Don’t block my way.”

“Who’s blocking our way?” Qin Ming pointed arrogantly at the ground, then pointed his finger at Luo Ziling’s chest, “It’s you who’s blocking Mr. Ling’s path. Good dogs don’t stand in the way, but you’re standing in our way, clearly a bad dog.”

Qin Ming’s words provoked laughter from his companions, leaving Luo Ziling seething with rage.

Blind with fury, he didn’t hesitate at all, grabbing the finger Qin Ming was pointing at him and giving it a slight twist. As Qin Ming cried out in pain, calling for his parents, Luo Ziling yanked on his arm, slamming Qin Ming against the wall.

Qin Ming, utterly powerless to resist, banged his head hard against the wall, let out another scream, and fell to the floor with a thud.

Mr. Ling and the others were shocked still by Luo Ziling’s sudden attack.

“You’re too arrogant, aren’t you? Daring to hit my people today?” Mr. Ling, humiliated in public by Luo Ziling once again, couldn’t hide his fury as he looked at Luo Ziling icily, “Since you dare to make a move, then we’ll play along with you.”

With that, he stepped back and called out to the people behind him, “Go on, beat him half to death, then throw him out.”

He couldn’t believe that in such a confined space, Luo Ziling alone could take down him and his bodyguards.

Upon hearing Mr. Ling’s command, the six or seven black-clad bodyguards behind him responded and immediately charged forward.

The two bodyguards who had been easily taken down by Luo Ziling before were leading the charge.

Still burning with the shame of their previous defeat, they were eager for revenge against Luo Ziling. Encountering him here, with several companions and Mr. Ling ordering them to take action, they didn’t hesitate to rush forward.

Luo Ziling certainly wasn’t going to let them make the first move; striking first was always his principle, so as they prepared to surround him, he was ready to strike.

“Stop,” just as the black-clad bodyguards were about to rush forward and Luo Ziling was preparing to strike first, an angry shout from a woman came from behind, “Who dares to make a move?”

Turning around, Luo Ziling saw it was Yang Qingyin striding over; he quickly stepped back to shield her.

“It’s okay, go back to the private room, leave this to me,” Luo Ziling took Yang Qingyin’s hand and whispered to her, “I can handle them.”

But Yang Qingyin didn’t follow Luo Ziling’s instruction and instead stepped forward, her face cold as she spoke to the group, “Who dares to make a move? Ling Haijun, come out.”

“Oh, it’s Miss Yang,” seeing Yang Qingyin appear, Mr. Ling, who had stepped back, immediately parted the crowd to come to the front, smiling at Yang Qingyin, “I didn’t expect to run into Miss Yang here. Is this your friend? Boyfriend?”

He had seen Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin holding hands just moments ago.

“You want to hit him? Tell me why!” Yang Qingyin ignored Ling Haijun’s inquiry and continued to stare coldly at them.

In that moment, Yang Qingyin bore no trace of the gentle and amiable demeanor that Luo Ziling was used to seeing. There was no hint of feminine frailty in her; she emanated an aura befitting a queen.

“So, he really is Miss Yang’s boyfriend. My apologies,” Ling Haijun glanced at Luo Ziling guarding Yang Qingyin’s side, then back at a cold-faced Yang Qingyin and smiled, “In light of Miss Yang’s presence, let’s consider this a misunderstanding. Let’s go!”

With that, he turned and walked towards the hallway.

The bodyguards, who had been ready to fight, had already backed off at Yang Qingyin’s arrival, and when Ling Haijun turned to leave, his bodyguards quickly followed, with the rest hurriedly leaving as well.

Qin Ming, almost having his finger broken by Luo Ziling and then being slammed against the wall by him, dared not say another word and dejectedly followed them out.
