The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 226: I Want to Talk to You About Yang Qingyin

“Boss, the acne on my face has mostly disappeared,” while waiting for the dishes, Cao Jianhui pointed at his face which was much smoother than before starting school, but a lot darker, and said, “Your prescription really works. I believe what you said when you gave it to me, the acne will definitely be gone in two months.”

“So, can you fulfill the promise you made back then?” Luo Ziling looked at Cao Jianhui with a playful expression on his face, “You said you would cover my living expenses for the university years.”

“No problem,” Cao Jianhui patted his chest, speaking very generously, “When Brother says something, it’s as solid as gold. Whatever I say, I’ll do it. Starting next month, I’ll cover all your living expenses. I can transfer to you via bank card or WeChat, Alipay is fine too.”

Li Fuming and Wu Longjiang looked at Luo Ziling with envious faces.

After gulping down a cup of tea, Wu Longjiang, with a sly smile, said to Cao Jianhui, “Why not cover us too while you’re at it?”

“Exactly, exactly,” Li Fuming nodded his head like a pecking chick, “After all, our monitor is loaded with money, so just consider it like you’re sponsoring us, hehe.”

“Get lost,” Cao Jianhui got angry, pushing away Li Fuming’s outstretched hand, “Sponsoring you? Go look in the mirror. Even if I were to sponsor a man, it wouldn’t be someone with no figure or looks like you.”

Li Fuming wasn’t annoyed and still giggled, saying, “So you prefer men like Boss, huh?”

“Brothers for life,” Wu Longjiang joined in the senseless ruckus, even raising his cup of tea, toasting towards Luo Ziling and Cao Jianhui, “Here’s to you growing old together.”

“You two little sods, asking for a beating, huh?” Cao Jianhui laughed and cursed, “Talking about growing old together. In a moment, I’ll make sure you’re soaked to the skin.”

As he spoke, he picked up his tea cup, ready to pour it over Wu Longjiang’s head, but Luo Ziling snatched it away.

“Alright, alright,” Luo Ziling pulled Cao Jianhui back to his seat, laughing, “Consider that prescription a gift then, I don’t need you to cover my college living expenses, just take good care of our three dorm mates in the future. As the class leader, everyone needs your care.”

“That’s not a problem,” Cao Jianhui patted his chest, making a thumping sound, “If Miss He continues to let me be the class leader, I’ll definitely take the best care of you guys. But, the promise I made to you, I’ll definitely keep. I’ll cover your university years’ living expenses.”

“No, no, no,” Luo Ziling quickly waved his hand, “If you do that, people will really think I’m being sponsored by you. How about this, you can just buy us breakfast every day, how does that sound?”

“No way,” Cao Jianhui adamantly refused, “I’m not going to buy you guys breakfast. Sacrificing precious sleep time, no thanks.”

“Alright, alright, the dishes are here, let’s eat,” seeing the waiter bringing the dishes, Luo Ziling quickly called out, “We are brothers, from now on we’ll take care of each other, let’s not talk about living expenses anymore, otherwise it’ll make things awkward.”

Cao Jianhui didn’t say anything more, just patted his shoulder heavily and said very earnestly, “Good brothers.”

They fooled around for a while, and the atmosphere instantly warmed up.

Cao Jianhui opened a few bottles of beer, giving one to each person. He ordered a total of twelve bottles, three for each person.

Soon, everyone got into eating and drinking, and the mood was lively.

In the midst of the bustling meal, Luo Ziling’s phone rang. He took it out for a look, and was immediately stunned.

The call was from that cool and beautiful woman who had given him gifts last time. Immediately, he said to the other guys who were enthusiastically drinking, “I’ll go take a call first.”

Without waiting for a response, he promptly left the small restaurant.

“Hello,” after stepping out of the restaurant, Luo Ziling took a few deep breaths, answered the phone, and his greeting voice shook slightly, “Hello!”

“Hello, Ziling,” a gentle female voice came through on the other end of the phone, “Are you at school?”

“I’m having dinner at the school gate,” Luo Ziling answered truthfully, “just outside the east gate of the school at Chuanwei Xiaozhu.”

“I am outside the east gate of your school,” the woman said softly, “Can you come out and meet me?”

Luo Ziling froze, suddenly unsure of how to respond.

The other party did not rush him, nor did she hang up the phone; instead, she waited quietly.

Forcing himself to calm down, Luo Ziling took a deep breath before replying, “Okay, I’ll come find you. Where exactly are you?”

The woman replied crisply, “My car’s license plate is Capital A6789, a black Audi A6. I’m standing by the car waiting for you.”

“Okay, I’ll be right there.” Luo Ziling hung up first.

After hanging up, Luo Ziling did not head over immediately; instead, he let out a couple of deep breaths and went back into the small restaurant to tell the other three guys that someone was looking for him and he was going to check it out.

“Go ahead, go, the beauty calls, you should hurry over, and better yet, bring her back to dine with us,” Cao Jianhui thought it was Yang Qingyin looking for Luo Ziling and chuckled as he made a joke, “It would also give us a chance to show off, hehe, hehe.”

Luo Ziling ignored Cao Jianhui’s joking and quickly left the small restaurant, rushing in the direction the woman had indicated.

Soon, he spotted the black Audi sedan and the woman standing by it, dressed in a teal business suit.

Although the woman’s face was mostly obscured by a pair of large black-framed glasses, her beauty was still evident and heads turned as people passed her by. But because she exuded a strong presence, no one dared to approach and strike up a conversation.

“Hello,” Luo Ziling ran over to her rapidly, greeting her with a flushed face.

Seeing Luo Ziling, the woman who had been keeping a stern face immediately showed a smile and softly called out, “Ziling.”

Without waiting for Luo Ziling to reply, she opened the car door, signaling for Luo Ziling to sit inside, “Sit in the car for a while, I have something to talk to you about.”

Without hesitation, Luo Ziling followed the woman’s instructions and sat in the car, thinking Ling Ruonan might be inside.

But to his disappointment, there was no one inside the car, just a few boxes on the seat.

The woman quickly noticed Luo Ziling’s disappointment and gently explained, “She cannot come to see you yet, please forgive her.”

“Alright,” Luo Ziling forced a smile towards the woman sitting next to him and then asked quietly, “What message does she want you to pass on to me?”

“She really wants to see you, but due to many reasons, she cannot come in person. This is for your own good, and she hopes you can understand.”

Luo Ziling nodded, saying nothing.

“I want to talk to you about Yang Qingyin.”

“What?!”
