Chapter 2052: Dinner Turned Meeting -Part 1

It was so bad that the ministers had to take turns to remind Jin to relax even though they were the ones who were giving him much trouble, asking him to sign this and that. Jin honestly wants to throw all the authority back at the ministry now that they were a bunch of competent fools.

However, it was precisely that they were fools who had accepted Kraft\'s mind conditioning that he had to take charge once in a while. (That\'s a lie. He took charge almost every single time.)

"Just a quick report of the day now that it\'s close to your dinner time. And just to be sure, you are skipping dinner too, right?"

"Why? Did the chef complain that he had nothing to do since I had been skipping meals?" Jin asked as he beckoned En Moy to come in and have a seat.

"No, it\'s more likely the fact that he has been outside in capital training newbies that he wished that you could try his apprentice\'s food for a change."

"Oh... okay sure." Jin nodded as he did not have any qualms with such a request.

"Oh ...erm I honestly did not expect you would be okay with that. Shall I give a heads up to the chef first before we continue our report?" En Moy said and Jin nodded, telling him to find him at the dinner table.

"If that\'s the case, can I get Minister Topharm here as well?" En Moy asked, trying to hope that he could now get a meeting rather than just a report to Jin.

"You really know how to push your luck, eh?" Jin sighed and nodded his head once more. He guessed he could try learning what\'s the progress of the kingdom\'s expansion or what Topharm thought about future developments. "Oh but eh...tell the chefs to take their time since it comes to this. Have a proper meal, you two leading ministers deserved that much."

En Moy gratefully accepted it and he did not take long to inform the chefs before returning to the dinner table as soon as possible. "That\'s fast," Jin exclaimed and En Moy smiled a little.

"Royal Advisor Kraft taught us well and awakened all of us to magic." En Moy replied. Even though he honestly did not like the training, what was done was already done and he is reaping the rewards of that training. "We had been diligently working to make sure the efforts he put in to teach us would be used wisely."

"Ah, you don\'t have to bullshit about him right in front of me. I know him too well." Jin said and Kraft suddenly appeared out of thin air, sitting right beside the king and already asking the servants to pour him some wine to start off the dinner. Obviously, En Moy kept quiet and not want to respond to Jin\'s reply in lieu of the presence of the person who had trained him.

"How are the soldiers?" Jin asked as he could clearly see that Kraft was having loads of fun training the new Rifle Mages.

"They fared quite well. Responsible and willing to learn as well." Kraft said as he shook the glass of wine before taking a sip. "By the end of the month, we should have at least 500 Rifle Mages at our disposal. That should take care of the rascals that are bordering our flanks and ass."

"Lord Kraft, you know of the gathering of troops from the various countries?" En Moy wished to speak with regards to that as part of his agenda in the dinner meeting. He had no idea that Kraft was already informed of the situation at hand. It was not pressing since the troops that had gathered were small in numbers but the coincidence in timing to have all sides stationing troops at once?

That was something to do with intent.

Not to mention, the isolation barrier was see through from the inside so the Rifle Mages were able to identify the number of soldiers that were being stationed as well as their type.

"Huh? They finally started to pull troops in?" Jin thought it was a little tad early to do so.

"I am guessing they saw our magical vehicle in action." Kraft deduced but he had no evidence for that theory at all. "Otherwise, I would see no reason why they had started to move in so early. Don\'t you have any spies outside of the kingdom?"

"Even if I did, they would not be able to communicate back to us, right? That\'s the whole point of the isolation barrier." Jin rolled his eyes upwards. "In any case, do not worry about them, by the time they are ready to strike, we will have a sufficient amount of Rifle Mages under our wing.

And from the count, I also assumed that we have successfully converted almost all of our existing mages in the military?"

"More or less. I didn\'t really count. But the numbers should be there." Unlike Jin who still had the support of a basic system, Kraft did not have any. He was merely going through everything with the numbers in his head. And for a person who was from the System, it was quite a feat to have so much knowledge and information about the Devil.

"Then, next would be those standard infantry. How long do you think that will take for them to be Rifle Mages?" Jin asked and Kraft rubbed his chin a little after sipping his wine.

"I had more or less figured out the kinks of the training programme, so it should technically be faster. Just that most of the musclebrains do not have magic awakened in them at all. They probably need to be forcefully awakened just like how I did it for the government officials."

"Sounds fair. How long do you think it will take if that is the case?"

"About a month or so as well. But I might need to be harsher than them compared to the current rifle mages because of the forced awakening."

"That\'s fine. The result is all that was needed. After that, go for the volunteers who had signed up as well. Don\'t give them mercy but let them quit if they cannot handle it."

"That\'s kind of defeating the purpose of training if they are able to quit," Kraft argued.

"You are not wrong but we cannot force volunteers to carry on. That is why they are called volunteers, Mr Devil in a fox\'s suit. However, if it is a Lyrco volunteer army, then we might need to be stricter in the criteria for training. Perhaps, even a contract might be necessary to seal the deal." Jin said and Kraft nodded in agreement as well.

"What we need is something more than that. The Rifle Mages are excellent but their firepower is limited even though Lord Kraft had ensured that the products that came out from his training were of a standard variation.

"You do not have to worry about that. After the automation factory produced a sufficient amount of rifles for not only the military but also the public, we will proceed to create the Crystal Sherman Tank that we had driven around previously." Jin then stopped for a while and added on to his sentence. "Or the likes of it."

"Wait, before we go to the Crystal Sherman Tanks, did you just say public?"

"Aye. Everyone will go through basic gun training and survival training. The Rifle Mages will take turns to go to various schools to teach and test them. That is the most basic thing the citizens had to do." Jin was taking lessons on compulsory military conscription.

"Hmm..Considering the number of enemy kingdoms we might have to face, I guess that must be an inevitable choice." Topharm finally came in and En Moy greeted him. What was more surprising was not his comment but the guest that he brought along as well. Grand Sage Mex.

"This is a rare sight. I thought I had offended you badly Grand Sage Mex." Jin said as he stood up and shook his hands.

"Competition is competition. Saving the nation is another priority. Besides, I can already see that the effects of your work are starting to take shape. The people from the slums are fully employed despite the weak meager salary that they were given to."Grand Mex said. "So, I am here to come to help."
